New person to wow

AH buys last night. You will see the 400 level stuff which is pricey. I opted for 300 gear at much lower prices.

The vendor I mentioned was the Kurrock event vendor. The anniversary event had a vendor who sold nice basic gear for marks to use at 120. Since if you did all Kurrock for leveling….you could literally run this all wrath gear to 120. Scaling, horde roll stomping alliance lol…crap gear worked here.

Great for leveling. But as I saw last night…yeah my warlock has an “odd” gear profile lol…

But I just told you. :frowning: Group up with him, he opens his quest log… and Party Sync is right there at the bottom of it. You’ll be prompted to accept the sync. From there he can share what quests he has right now with you, or you can play where’s waldo and try to find them yourself >.< I always took the second option.

I’d just look up a basic rotation on icy veins or the class discord for him and then tell him to not stand in stuff/effects and to stand behind mobs. He’ll take a week or two to get a hang of rotation and what ever else.

But yeah m0s and other avenues for gearing and lfr+

Old content isn’t difficult and some quests are very cool and fun and offer toys/mounts/pets. It’s just the main “kill 6 tigers”, and older dungeons even have a mount here and there you can farm.

I didn’t know before >.<

Why would u let him boost a character? If you actually want him to learn properly then he should start from 1. Youre just wasting your time at this point.

Additionally, you have access to timewalking for atleast the next four weeks after this reset, these could be a great place for him to get the basics of the game down enough to be able to enjoy mythic zero’s.

Ah i see! I just remember from timewalking I kinda hated it. I think it was a BC dungeon? It was awful, you ran around the map in hopes a boss spawns and had to do this like 20+ times it made me not want to do old content :joy:

As I said I didn’t feel confident with older content

I disagree, leveling is just a chore to get to the real game, if you think you’re learning because you only have one ability then i don’t know what to say lol.

Yeah that one is called the Black Morass, and I don’t recall anyone ever enjoying it, even during BC. The other dungeons in the pool are more typical, and since these ones will rotate out on Tuesday, they will be replaced by Wrath of the Lich King dungeons - these will feel much more modern in terms of layout and length.

God it’s awful

During the nazjatar quest line he will be given at one point twenty mana pearls to upgrade a piece of gear. My characters used them instead to buy 4 pieces of the Bethnic gear which helped a lot.

I doubt he even knows how to do a dps rotation or kick a spell but ya im sure he’ll learn it all after having entire trees and his entire spellbook dropped on him 5 seconds into starting the game for the first time.

Not sure which dungeon your talking about, but TBC dungeons were pretty awful designs. Most dungeons aren’t like that at all, its just clear trash, kill boss, move on.

Doesn’t take much to icy veins a rotation when i boost a class i can learn a rotation in 5-10 minutes from a guide, you don’t get the hang of it for a week at least so the sooner he can start using good habits intead of mashing his keyboard with one or two spells the faster he’ll progress.

I’m just going to repeat the Pandaren philosophy, “Slooow Dooown.”

Why don’t you start a new character and he starts a new character and you introduce him to Azeroth and explore it together? I don’t understand boosting someone’s first character and expecting them to enjoy it. They’re going to have no idea what’s going on and no attachment to the game world, and they’re going to suck in dungeons, which will make them not want to PvE. Then they’re going to get rocked in PvP, instead of learn it with other lowbies, and not like that either. Unless he likes pet battles or xmog farming, he’s probably going to get bored of WoW really fast.

Ya that makes sense for you because you’ve played the game for years genius.

I mean i don’t do pvp so we would be Q’ing as lowbies

Should make sense to anyone spend what 60 lvls pushing the same 3 buttons when everyones rotation only has like 4-6 at most, adding a few more buttons to learn good habits from the start from a guide would make more sense than oh i was only pushing that one or two buttons before. At least now he can setup his bars fully instead of 1 additional spell every other level.

You only really need to lvl 1-120 if you’re broke and can’t afford a boost, or you care about the story/lore and sight seeing. They can always make level 1 toons but since his/her SO is already cap it’s not like it’s going to hurt.
