New multi-boxing restrictions don't go far enough

How about Input Director instead of kvm as the pc’s are local and Input Director allows the mouse to travel to the 2nd computer? 2nd pc still needs a keyboard though which can be messy on a home desk.

Anyone can mash 1234 on a second keyboard without looking.

How about this https://www.nurgo-software.com/products/aquasnap cost $20 though

It’s just a window tiler so you can setup your wow windows a certain way and switch between them with binds. No broadcasting or cloning or anything

Here’s the problem in my Eyes.

“Input Broadcasting Software”

There is no such thing. Blizzard made this term up. It means whatever they want it to mean.

They didn’t say “KVM software” they didn’t Say “Virtual Boxes, with Virtual KVMs” they didn’t say “Auto Hotkey” they didn’t say “Input Cloning”.

They didn’t use an actual term, that has any reference to any existing product or way of doing it.

Knowing first hand sadly, of Blizzards “Ban first ask questions later, and then refuse to ask or answer any questions later” policy.

I think its honestly going to come down to how fast the actions present. If it appears inhuman, and you get reported your going to get banned.

Razer has got wise to Game companies banning for this type of stuff, and so have other companies surely. Where you could likely pull of a window of delay, that is varying and within the confines of human reaction times.

However your still just trying to be sly and side skirt the rules, which might still land you a ban.

I would personally guess, this is going to come down to you being reported. If your not reported there is no concern. The warden might watch for blatant cases, but reports will still be prevalent.

Another words. In my personal opinion, knowing how blizz handles skirting the rules, all too well. I would approach it as there is a strong possibility of being banned however you try to do it, and only continue with that in mind.

yeah but idk about having any software open outside of wow client, battle.net launcher, browser for quest helper or item info etc

I have a few monitors and use to be fine to move my mouse all the way across to pick up loot. I use to just use 800x600 for most windows and full screen window mode for main.

I had bookmarked that link for future if I need. thanks.

/ I could easily handle 3 accounts via mouse movement but this time round I don’t think Shadow lands is worth it to be honest.

It is a nice to have though, is that yours?

Nah that’s not my thing. I like multiple monitors for compartmentalization lol

Is that guy really saying you’ll automatically get banned for multiboxing even though blizz explicitly stated its fine?:rofl::rofl:

See multiple accounts on multiple monitors with a battlenet that allows 8x accounts along with refer a friend yourself as the best option of unlocking special mounts and pets. There can’t be a topic that asks for more restrictions than what they already opened us up to without some form of understanding,.

Except multiboxing is fine and not against the rules. Just using certain software is and that’s because BOTS use it.:rofl::rofl:

Not really, he’s saying that the intent of the policy change is to forbid simultaneous broadcasting of mouse and keyboard inputs and it isn’t specifically to forbid the use of software but also that hardware devices like multiplexers and KVMs run software and will fall under the software restriction.
Could be right :man_shrugging: I don’t think he is but that’s why I submitted a ticket to ask because some people have assumptions about what is and isn’t ok which Blizz can answer without endorsing any particular software or product.

It says software. It also said boxing is fine. Why would you get banned if you aren’t breaking any rules? Its irrational fear mongering from anti boxers who are more worried about spam posting WE DID IT BOIZ vs actually reading what blizz has already said.

The problem is detecting it… How do you detect something like a KVM? It isn’t going to show up in device manager…

I guess blizz should start doing home visits periodically to make sure no one is being naughty :rofl::rofl:

This would seem a logical conclusion however the thing I don’t get is that I’ve always understood botting to be a largely set-and-forget function. Many bots are single characters that, as I understand it, are launched and behave in a certain patterned way to do whatever gathering or collecting it is that the person wants from them. If there is no Input broadcasting happening (because its a single character) then this move won’t address single character botting, which I see as one of the real problems with bots.

Input broadcasting - which mirror a command from one character to one or more other characters - seems to be largely used by multiboxers. While some people DO mbox to gather and collect, I wonder how many more do it on single characters to avoid these very types of easily identifiable software. Now, I don’t know how easy it is for Warden to identify the use of a bot software so I can’t tell if that means it doesn’t matter, but so far as the issue for this restriction (the input broadcasting) then it would not seem to be something that would relate to single bot characters.

Weve conquered the village, make sure to pillage and burn it.
This mentality is always amusing.

They were pretty specific at this point with their rules. Keystroke broadcasting software is not ok but multiboxing is. This does not strike me as a move they made capriciously or without some strong internal debate. I have a very hard time believing that no one would have brought up the hardware solutions to this during such debate.

Advocate as you will of course but please do so with at leapt some actual reasoned arguments other than “oh yeah, well…rich guys could do what they could always have done and thats just not fair”. As for gold farming companies…do you really think this will in any way significantly impact them? If you do I got some land down off the panhandle in florida I’ll let you have at such a good price.

I know, if Blizz wanted all forms of it forbidden I think they would have just said broadcasting input to multiple clients simultaneously is actionable. That would make multiboxing allowable since you can still run multiple clients and switch between them while also forbidding any kind of interpretation of broadcasting.

Well I guess they could always tap into your camera if you have one… I mean everyone has to have one now for their Zoom meetings right? :joy:

Some of these people won’t be happy until blizz perma bans anyone who has ever had more than one account and then kicks them in the shins irl. Lol
