New mount - Squeakers... Really?

I’m fine with the mount, but since I already have a six month sub, do I get it as well?
Store mounts don’t bother me, I think I bought 1 out of all of them, but I want my free rat since that seems to be the offer here Blizz. When can I expect it in the mail??

Because you are being given options. You “can” buy it instantly if you want, or you can take the time to earn it the ingame way. The choice is yours! Or are we arguing about choice now?

Honestly with the drop rate of many many many mounts, I like having a consistent and reliable way of earning these things. But hey, if you love the RNG that can leave you without the mount you want for YEARS, then by all means you keep hitting that RNG roulette.

JEEEZUS!

People complained when subscription reward mounts weren’t available to those who didn’t want to buy a six month sub. So they make this one available as a sub reward OR as a store mount–WHICH YOU CAN BUY WITH GOLD–and people are still complaining!

Grind gold. Go to AH and buy tokens with gold to sell for Blizzard Balance. Buy mount. Congratulations, you have just earned a mount by doing in-game content.

According to the blue post, you should get it for free at some point before the 28th of this month.

Sure, it’s probably tied to the new year, but I’d also bet it’s an incentive for people to stay subbed through this content drought we’ll be experiencing. Otherwise, play a month, down him, unsub.

Trying to claw to hang onto subs so they dont lose people for 6 months.

I think the complainers hate this fact.

OMG I CAN BUY A STORE MOUNT WITH INGAME GOLD?! I SHALL COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT STORE MOUNT THAT ANYWAY.

You can buy this mount outright if you don’t want to do a six-month recurring sub.

You’re saving money, yes, but you’re WASTING TIME. Congratulations: you are now in a content drought. Good luck crossing months of wilderness to the nearest 7-11. Here’s your X amount of gallons of water and X amount of energy bars, and pray you will be able to get back to civilization when it’s all said and done.

Hopefully you won’t end up like this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Upbu3K1cwnI

Again, as already stated multiple times already these promotions are planned 6 to 8 months in advance, sometimes longer. There is no way Blizzard can know in advance when they’re going to get sub losses and the like, so they can’t simply ‘plan a promotion’ to save subs.

Here’s some context for ya. I love options as much as the next guy, heck i love wearing a red dress as a guy toon and nobody can stop me. But were talking about Microtransactions. And honestly, i rather they don’t exist at all and just be ingame only.

“Oh but we can get them for “free””

Yes, and you can also play Dungeon Keeper mobile for free… it’s just going to take you, eh one day to mine a single block. I’m sure it’s no big deal. Overwatch Lootboxes? Ehh, just play the game, hours upon hours to get another one for free!

Drop rate isn’t just the only way to earn mount, you can purchase the mounts ingame from vendors.

That would be lying if i said i love RNG.

Can you explain to me how that is totally the same thing as buying a mount from a vendor completely/only ingame? I dodn’t remember going though Bnet to get my Stormwind Horse.

It’s not that hard to forecast and plan raid tier phases. They easily could have known the raid tier was dropping around this time, and has been evident from past expansions, after the AoTC has been obtained, it’s only a matter of time before people take a 4+ month break before the next expansion.

Are you insane? Just because you think it’s a “content drought” doesn’t mean many of the rest of us don’t have piles of things to do in game. I could not buy Shadowlands and still have years of content to catch up on and have fun playing.

It’s a free mount for those of us who have a recurring sub and enjoy playing. If you don’t enjoy playing, why do you even want the mount?

I don’t play Dungeon Keeper, but I’m going to assume that said block you mine is important to basic gameplay. The mount is a vanity item that doesn’t effect your gameplay. You can buy the vanity item with enough gold. There is no problem here.

This is complaining for the sake of complaining. Your source funds to buy the mount is ingame. It just sounds to me like you don’t want to go to the effort of grinding the gold for the mount.

Can you explain why you’re pretending you don’t understand the English language? Is it because you’re actually trolling?

I never once said it was like buying a mount from a vendor. I said you can earn this mount by playing the game. You don’t have to buy a subscription. You don’t have to spend any cash for the mount. You can play the game, earn gold, and buy the mount with the gold you earned in the game.

Again, 6 to 8 months in advance…

Can you predict traffic 6 to 8 months in advance? Can you make accurate decisions about anything that far in advance? No, you can’t. So the concept of ‘this is to save subs’ has no basis in reality.

Wait wait, let me respond for Bari here.

This mount is actually to commemorate the Chinese New Year, which I believe begins on Jan 25th this year. Blizz probably designed the mount over a year ago. They probably have mounts for future years in development (if they aren’t already complete). It has nothing to do with raid tiers or anything else. Don’t bother arguing with the twits that want to claim otherwise.

I promise you, they predicted rough time tables, even though we didnt – they planned IN ADVANCE. I didnt need to predict anything, I’m simply stating they saw/had an opportunity to launch a promotion around the time the content releases to help lock in subs, knowing we are quickly approaching the fatigue period for players, which is very real.

The domesticated ones are very kind pets once they trust you. The problem is they have a very short life. 2 years is the average. 3 to 4 if you’re lucky.

They also need a friend or two to speak rat with. They’re very social.

To be fair the wild ones are jerks. The ones you can buy from breeders or pet stores to be friends? Little cuddle bugs once they trust their human.
