This stuff might be more appropriate in the An’she thread, I dunno. But I think the point is that there’s extra validity assigned to the name Elune when we see that beings from other planets use the same name for her. The couple in Ardenweald use the name. Prince Renethal starts to say her name about the Stonewright. These instances support Elune being the proper name.
And then the tauren just call her Musha for some reason, but it doesn’t look good. Because if other races can use her proper name, why can’t they?
Because perhaps the contact was made differently, and the Tauren made a legend about it that fit into their world picture, and were not visited by Elune personally with visions, taught by her, can give many reasons why the Tauren did not call her Elune.
Which is an example of unequal storytelling, Elune “revealing herself” to multiple civilizations across the cosmos, including the Night Elves, but not the Zandalari, not the Tauren, not the Orcs, and not the Humans.
It is a narrative choice that makes the narrative field unequal, and centers the Night Elves above all else.
It it just so happens that all the races loosely inspired by Hollywood brand Non-European cultures are deeply flawed, prone to evil monsters easily manipulated through their primitive and wrong faiths. While all the more Euro-inspired ones (again HW brand) are nearly flawless paragons of moral virtue, who are always validated in their civilized faiths. Truly, thank goodness the Gobbo’s don’t have more racial coding with their specific group than they do. Especially now that they are all culturally condemned to purgatory. Their tech hook really helps distract from their other more Harry Potter-esk side.
EDIT: As a slightly related note, I betcha both Arthas and Sylvanas will see some form of redemptions in SLs here and return to their pure Blond Haired, Blue Eyed looks to show they’ve become good again.
I’m begging you to read any actual exegesis on the nature of the Fall and an actual book on the theology involving original sin from both the Western and Eastern Apostolic Churches. Read. Books.
Where are we getting this lore that all goblins are going to Revendreth? I’d point out thay doesnt even make sense considering we see Goblin souls in Bastion.
so it is unequal storyteling that the Earthmother - possibly according to taurenbelief the …mother of the two - revealed herself only to the Tauren and are their favorites?
Earthmother and An’she ain’t even canon yet my dude, and Earthmother has never actually been stated to speak to the Tauren, unlike Elune did to the Night Elves. An’she either.
Winter Queen makes no mention of a mother, or a brother.
some kinda ghost creature haunts goblins and makes them nongreedy and is basically the devil to them. Shadowlands afterlive for goblnis is called the Unending/Everlasting Party.
From OPs post. And then made note of how the Venthyr Covenant feature is called the Unending Party. Which … is problematic after the soul of a Goblin CHILD showed up in Revendreth as a Ward of the Mad Duke during Childrens Week. Nothing is confirmed, but its not a good combination of looks.
It’s the OP’s hypothesis based on the reveal that goblins believe in an Unending/Everlasting Party afterlife, which happens to be a Venthyr covenant feature.
Hopefully it’s just an unfortunate coincidence, given Revendreth’s intended purpose of why souls go there and all.
Also I missed this bit and I admittedly glazed through BFA like a bad fever dream, but from a quick Google, Magni’s diamond stunt specifically attuned him to Azeroth’s world soul and that’s why he gained the title of Speaker. I think that, unless they retcon it for some reason, it really is Azeroth communicating to him.
my guess is it is a coincedence that it is call the Everlasting Party. The authors apperently are not all well versed in Warcraft lore(which was a point of discussion about the night elf short).
the goblin child could be an exception and not the rule. He is the only goblin child we see.
bastion has goblin souls so we know this is already false information.
Anything could be. I am not aware of titans singing, but I know some melodic creatures that might have some connection to a “hot topic” goddess.
Also, according to Chronicles, Emerald Dream is a way to commune with the world-soul.
This fragment:
THE DREAMING WORLD
Some believe that Freya wove the Emerald Dream into being from nothing. Others claim that this strange place had always existed in some form, a dream born from Azeroth’s slumbering world-soul. It is said that Freya tapped into this realm and molded what would become known as the Emerald Dream as a way to commune with the nascent titan.
And the door in Chamber of Hear is inscribed with the same symbol as on the lock of the N’Zoth’s prison (the one activated after the Azshara fight). Which might have peculiar implications.
I cannot help but sort of think the artwork on the Earthmother in the new book reminds me of Eonar, in at least the skintone department. Another possibility is the Earthmother might be another member of the Pantheon of Life. We know basically nothing about it other than Elune is apperantly part of it.
My suspicion is the devs thought that it was “cute” to do so as Theotar is a bit of a fan favorite due to how wacky he is. I do not think they actually thought it out.
Which is the issue. They don’t think. Or at least, they either don’t don’t ask or don’t listen to story team feedback.
Let’s assume for a moment: Elune is a member of the Life Pantheon and the true origin of the Emerald Dream, which would mean that with this dream you can simply talk to any LIVING being, which includes world souls.
I’ll figure its a coincidence, but yeah … its just a weird ugly combination of weird coincidences. The idea that an entire culture is bound for purgatory simply because of (in part) some cultural consequences of them being very new … and slaves for 3000 years is a troubling thought in general. As is that hyping up Goblin Greed as their prominent trait (rather than A trait that is a negative if it goes to far in them, like with Wix).
