New lore reveal in books. Elune, Azeroth, Sylvanas

folklore and fairytails book

  1. the first story of the book features azeroth(earth mother), the sun, the moon(elune), the baby sister(winter queen), and the tuaren and the old gods.
aparently azeroth is blocking the old gods from coming out as mcuh as she can so until we defeat all the old gods on the planet for reals then we won’t be seeing her according to the story, story also reveals that elune was supposed to care for her lil sis witner queen forever sicne the mom can’t and also stay with the brother forever (the son god)

speculation: since elunes missing, her brother is going crazy which is why the light and lgihtforged army went crazy. winter queen took it a different way and resented elune thinking she abandoned them.

  1. the whole time there were female tuskar the story reveals that male and female tuskar look exactly the same even both got mustaches. only differnce whatsoever is female either got no eyebrows or small ones. also revealed sea dragons are cannon and near northrend

3.vulpera children dont even bat an eye about killing other vulpera children nor actually regret it when it happens

  1. some kinda ghost creature haunts goblins and makes them nongreedy and is basically the devil to them. Shadowlands afterlive for goblnis is called the Unending/Everlasting Party.

speculation: the shadowlands creature is a venthyr making the goblnis repend their greed, goblnis go to revendreth. Unending party is the venthyr covenant feature

5.the story is about sylvanas and her sister (not the void elf one the powerless one)
reveals sylvanas belongs in ardenweald but got pulled into the maw where she was tortured and abused and brainwashed into being the jailer’s “pet” which he carries in his hand and pocket. Her soul is also confirmed to be split into several pieces that the jailer has hidden so she is unable to become whole again. the sister vowed to repair sylvanas soul fragments and make her whole again but when she leaves the shadowlands she forgot the jailer and sylvanas. It also retcons that apparently spirit healers ARE NOT kyrians (or at least a different type that are all blind with bound eyes so they cant judge souls) yeah sylvanas aint gunna be deleted this xpac she will be mended and put in ardenweald where she belongs… fishy how the winter queen didnt mention her in 9.1 and that sylvanas hates the winter queen in 9.1 for some odd reason…

the book makes it clear the jailer was hurt and heartbroken which causes him to act like a jerk and he is indeed after justice
against his family members and he has no reason to lie so the 411 is basically al lthe SL leaders are basically jerks and the basis of SL is family drama

oh and huge spoiler but the jailers family betrayed him then forced him to serve the maw. (blizz did state at blizzcon 2019 that by the end of shadowlands we may side with the jailer and that overall SL is about family and betrayal)
6. Uther had a pet stone dragon monster at some point in his life (uthers 9.1 model datamined is matched with the armor he wears in his story)

also mermaids on azeroth are canon and they used to live near boralis at some point but fled

oh the book also made canon that chromie is trans

everything in the book is canon s we got LOADS of awesome stuff to see in future patches/xpac

Elune is supposed to heal her brother if I recall…

Incidentally the Night Elf Story mentions the Blue Child as being Elune’s Child which of course means the Winter Queen AKA the Earthmother’s Tear Lo’sho is not the Blue Child despite Lo’sho being Blue…

The person you are quoting is making assumptions on Sylvanas due to having her Soul Split as the Book doesn’t say where Sylvanas’s Soul will go normally.

Furthermore it doesn’t say the Banshee Queen will survive the Expansion. She might very well be killed off leaving only the half that Vereesa found to survive.

I’ve seen a lot of Kyrians who have been blinded(including the 2 Paragons Devos and Xandria) so no they aren’t a different type from what we’ve seen but merely one of the common types of ascended.

Great stuff! I love all of it. I may just need to get my hands on this book (was originally going to skip it).

I am happy the writers have a better grip on the story than the story forums.

I going to assume that is the Princess that turns into a Dragon in Reddit’s description of Uther’s Story(the description calls her a Frostwyrm but the Reddit writer may just be coming up with the closest name he could think of)… Which means Uther won the girl as a pet in the Tournament…

The Princess is a counterpart to Arthas with her father being a counterpart to Terenas who wagered her and the stone controlling her(a ripoff of the Dragon Soul) in the tournament…

Wonder where Uther’s pet Dragon lives… I’m sure she was his personal mount.

Actually no:
As stated in the book’s introduction by one of its editors, Allison Irons, the authors were free to explore Azeroth through their own vision using direction from the Warcraft team. As such, “some of the tales you’ll encounter here may be rooted in canon, or they may be another traveler just telling a tall tale.”

-so, its impossible to tell what is canon and what is not in this book.

Danuser managed to confirm that Chromie’s story is Canon at the least.

Uther’s story gives him the outfit from his story so it may be Canon as well.

The Earthmother, An’she, Mu’sha/Elune and Lo’sho’s story I’m hoping is Canon and tied to the Great Clash of Light and Void!

I’m hoping the Blue Child Story is also Canon and we meet the Winter Queen’s niece in 9.2(I’m also hoping the 9.1 Cutscene where Elune temporarily possesses Tyrande reveals that the Winter Queen was right at her side this whole time disguised as Lady Moonberry who suspiciously has the word Moon in her name).

This was copy pasted from another thread and the formatting is irritating to read through.

This happened on Draenor though. Unless the story is implying we will be going against the Light next xpac (which I’m hoping for) with An’she being a villain.

That’s hilarious.

Wat?

This is pretty good speculation and makes a lot of sense.

If this happens, that means Sylvanas will spend an eternity with a significant amount of the people she killed.

I have a hard time believing that this is true, although I wouldn’t be surprised

All the innocents she killed get torture and oblivion in the maw… and she gets Ardenweald? Lol

Fixed that for you… then again, there’s also the Scarlet Crusade / Onslaught / Brotherhood – the latter-most being what they call themselves now – but when you have certain Naaru (looking at you, AU Xe’ra) going bat :poop: crazy and forcibly converting others, that’s when something within the Light has really become effed up…

Nonetheless, that’s an interesting take you have… maybe an expansion focused on the Lightbound will bring about some answers…

Ummmmm, Alleria is not powerless… go into a Horrific Vision of Stormwind and see for yourself…

Considering Edge of Night portrayed her as both vain and (purposely) wasteful of her forces – even before she was undead – this would be a MASSIVE retcon of that short story, and the Shadowlands afterlife system pre-Legion in general, which may have originally placed her in Revendreth…

Pretty large assumption you’re making…

YAAAAAY! Just like me, IRL…

We will greet her with open arms, and beating sticks, lots of beating sticks…

Alleria is the Void Elf one, she means Vereesa.

The sister who isn’t very popular

It’s weird how I can read about Chromie, nod my head and move on without a second thought, and then others.

(edit) Also people, get over Chromie

“Soul was meant for Ardenweald” strikes me as something that implies this is what Frostmourne stole from her, not that the banshee queen deserves it now. The dark ranger rep in the Hunter hall sounded pretty resentful about coming back.

Really interesting. So Sylvanas will be redeemed and maybe whole and alive again. So she would join the Alliance or the Horde ? Or Vereesa ?

Except it does not call Earth Mother “Azeroth”.

Except “Elune” is not mentioned in the Earth mother story. Just as “Earth mother” is not mentioned in the “Embrace” one.

When I’ve read about An’she being wounded in the chest, my 1st thought was “how likely that the Jailer will be revealed as him”

That would clash with the kyrian covenant story.

Edge of Night says that Sylvanas felt whole again.

That would totally fit the story we have so far.
:man_facepalming:

Might be as unlikely reveal as where did Vashj left the heart of Aszune.

If this is true… lol.

What irritates me most these days is the cheap, poorly written cop-out that “oh, so and so wasn’t evil, there was just a greater power manipulating them” - especially in Sylvanas’ case, where we’ve been led to believe she’s been acting of her own volition since Cata, proving herself to be a boss and taking charge (despite also doing terrible things).

I honestly didn’t think that the story could get worse after BFA, and I was very much wrong.
