I just wanted to say how absolutely ridiculous the new LFG system is, its beyond terrible. What was the reason for this change besides being completely out of touch on how the game actually works??
Instead of queuing and offering myself up to be picked up when a group needs my class/spec now i have to play the actively signup/get declined game for an hour+ Limited to 5 sign ups? Who does this benefit??? its worse for raid leaders and its worse for players queing.
Ive never seen something so blatantly worse for the game for absolutely zero reason. Roll this back and stop wasting my time.
i… don’t know how to explain this to you if you don’t understand.
Its trash, making 1000% more work for the queuing players, changing nothing for raid leaders.
Actually its far worse for raid leaders because you have to wait for them to find and sign up for your specific raid group instead of just reaching into the pool of everyone wanting to do that instance.
Best solution is a hybrid of both imo. I hated that the old system didn’t have a search feature, and that the description was hidden unless you hovered over a group (which nobody bothered with). Now its super easy to see if a group is farming rep, or gdkp, or whatever else. As a group maker, the new queue system is also a lot more organized, since you don’t have to accept/deny one by one, first served. It was also annoying that I had to invite someone before listing myself under the old system if I wanted to be the leader, otherwise I’d get spammed with invites to other people’s groups.
What they could do is add a new section, that allows you to list yourself as available to do content, without making you the group leader, the way the old system did. Then when you list yourself, you appear as a potential to all group leaders as a potential for whatever content you signed up for, like ICC 10n.
Also bring back the ability to see what the raid comp is, helps for figuring out which VoA group needs a druid or a rogue.
This is a VoA lifesaver, but yeah, it should 100% be baseline to be able to see what group members are in a group you try to sign up for.
edit: The group tool should also not forget what raids you’ve already signed up for and been declined from when you manually refresh it, but here we are, in 2023.
