New LFG system is trash

I just wanted to say how absolutely ridiculous the new LFG system is, its beyond terrible. What was the reason for this change besides being completely out of touch on how the game actually works??

Instead of queuing and offering myself up to be picked up when a group needs my class/spec now i have to play the actively signup/get declined game for an hour+ Limited to 5 sign ups? Who does this benefit??? its worse for raid leaders and its worse for players queing.

Ive never seen something so blatantly worse for the game for absolutely zero reason. Roll this back and stop wasting my time.

you could do that before… now you just cant list yourself and wait for a proper group to snag you.

Nah, you couldnt apply to groups, and why would you just want to list yourself so people whisper you for things you dont even want to run?

i… don’t know how to explain this to you if you don’t understand.

Its trash, making 1000% more work for the queuing players, changing nothing for raid leaders.

Actually its far worse for raid leaders because you have to wait for them to find and sign up for your specific raid group instead of just reaching into the pool of everyone wanting to do that instance.

You’re free to like what you want, i hated the old one though

RDF is fine. The LFG is trash.

Yes, i am speaking about LFG. RDF is RDF, it works.

This instead of 1 person, a raid leader forming a group now it takes 25 people to do the effort to find and sign up for groups.

So at min this is 24x the effort from the community than the previous version. more like 100x because you obviously wont grab the first 24 to sign up.

Best solution is a hybrid of both imo. I hated that the old system didn’t have a search feature, and that the description was hidden unless you hovered over a group (which nobody bothered with). Now its super easy to see if a group is farming rep, or gdkp, or whatever else. As a group maker, the new queue system is also a lot more organized, since you don’t have to accept/deny one by one, first served. It was also annoying that I had to invite someone before listing myself under the old system if I wanted to be the leader, otherwise I’d get spammed with invites to other people’s groups.

What they could do is add a new section, that allows you to list yourself as available to do content, without making you the group leader, the way the old system did. Then when you list yourself, you appear as a potential to all group leaders as a potential for whatever content you signed up for, like ICC 10n.

Also bring back the ability to see what the raid comp is, helps for figuring out which VoA group needs a druid or a rogue.

You could, it was just restricted to 1 at a time.

I’d take the old custom LFG over 4 extra applications any day of the week.

And why on earth, in 2023, can we not see the classes/specs of people for a raid grouping tool still.

I don’t think it is trash but I think there could be some tweaks made to it to make it better for everyone though.

They made the LFG system objectively worse. The only people I’ve seen disagree are retail players, or players who didn’t use the old version.

Lmao. You like pretty terrible things then.

Ever since the new tool’s been implemented people have to recruit (particularly for VoA) via Trade Chat because

Nobody can signs themselves up for raids so if a raid needs whatever they can just invite them

Instead you get to apply yo a group that doesn’t want you and you’re sitting there waiting for an invite that’ll never come.

Or you whisper and you get told they don’t need your class.

I prefer signing up over having people whisper me for things i didnt even list myself for

This is a VoA lifesaver, but yeah, it should 100% be baseline to be able to see what group members are in a group you try to sign up for.

edit: The group tool should also not forget what raids you’ve already signed up for and been declined from when you manually refresh it, but here we are, in 2023.
