New Letter from Activision Blizzard CEO

Can we say grandstanding and an empty gesture? I knew we could.

It’s not any company’s business what my sexual orientation is man the world is getting weirder, or maybe it’s just the U.S.

It’s just the US… this whole non binary thing applies to such a small percentage of the population. It’s utter nonsense.

By hiring non-binary applicants

To make the workplace more inclusive and diverse.

How is this hard to understand?

Then why would every company on this country not hire exclusively women? A business is a business right? Ultimate goal is money.

So in his statement he mentioned:

We are a business fueled by passion and performance

And my question is… Where?

Blizzard is trying to be better than that, this will benefit us and the empoloyees in the end.

The goal is to make the best product possible. A person’s sexual identity has next to zero to do with that.

If he sold his house, sold all of his old valuables and donated all his money into charity except the bare sum he needed to live I might care. The reality is a rich guy sacrificing a sum of money that in the end isn’t that important considering he’s already financially set for life shouldn’t be praised.

What’s with your obsession on trying to test someone’s gender? If they identify as one then it’s good enough in my book.

Let’s not forget he said " We will increase the percentage of women and non-binary people in our workforce by 50%"

50% increase of 1 is 1.5 so draw your own conclusions

Wanted to make sure that was highlighted so folks didn’t go “Oh, but he’ll keep his bonuses and equity, empty gesture is empty!”

It exists because of career choice, work hours, and family decisions. If you hire a male and a female for the same exact job at the same exact time with the same experience, you cannot pay them differently. If this does happen then it is federally illegal and processed accordingly.

  1. Zero tolerance forgoes common sense in favor of mindless bureaucratic compliance.

  2. I’d rather be hired by a company because they thought I was a good fit for the job; not because they need to make quota.

  3. Seems fine, I guess.

Looks like they’re checking all the right boxes, as far as CA is concerned.

They need to hire based on qualifications and talent, not someone’s race, gender or romantic preferences…

You’re trying to make the same BS argument that Tahonto was making, despite evidence being presented to the contrary from multiple sources.

Please, choose a different hill to die on. This one isn’t the one you want to make a last stand on. Believe me.

Unfortunately, you’re right. It’s like when I was training a new intern that was with me when I was auditing manufacturing companies. She was surprised that there’s little to no women in the manufacturing part of the job, but when it comes to the office jobs for those company’s it was basically 50/50 with some time there being more women. She asked me if it was a common thing & I just simply asked her “do you want to work 12 hours a day on rotating shifts most of which is physically demanding labor, forced overtime, having to work some holidays?” Her response to that was “no” & I said, well, “a lot of other women probably feel the same way.”

Because a company made up entirely of middle-aged white guys is going to cater exclusively to middle-aged white guys. If the developers are all middle-aged white guys, the game is going to be nothing but things that appeal to middle-aged white guys.
