New Instance Limit in WoW Classic

Why does this exist is always a more fruitful line of inquiry than who done it.

The More You Know

You’re looking at it very one dimensional, and for that reason you’re opinion isn’t really valid.

I don’t like this. Instance farming (and resetting to find Jed) is a central part of classic.

Address the botting out in the world, what kind of ‘automated gameplay’ occurs in an instance?

The explosive growth of mages selling dungeon runs to make gold to sell as RMT is a problem, but simply capping instances is not the correct approach.

Dear Activation, due to this change you have implemented, and your failure to immediately respond or undo the change. I have unsubscribed.

This change - despite not locking me out yet - has already started to change my behavior in game. If I need heaps of linen cloth for AQ for example, I’d normally just run into RFC and AOE everything down, reset and do it again until I got as much as I need. Now that I know doing this could lock me out of raid, I am forced to plan ahead, and space farming sessions - concentrating on non raid days (i.e. days I had not previously planned to dedicate to wow).

My first thought when a guildie or friend asks for help with a power level or a arena run is now not “do I want to?” but rather “can I afford to?”. It’s a reaction that never fails to depress me.

If this 2006 April Fools change was at least in the least bit useful for combating botting, then I could probably stomach it, but it is 100% ineffectual thanks entirely to the “per realm” exemption that’s designed to benefit no one but botters, and make this issue moot to them. It’s infuriating. By saying “per realm” blizzard is telling regular players to get stuffed, while rolling out the welcome mat to the Chinese bots. Blizzard, years ago I would have said you’re better than this. Now-a-days I cannot, but I would love for you to prove me wrong.

If you must do a 30 limit:

  • exempt 40 man raids
  • give us an API for tracking lockouts
  • remove the “per realm” exemption on the limit you carved out for the bots. Make it across all realms per account so at least the bot accounts are affected by this just like the normal players.
  • do weekly or bi-weekly bot ban waves - the frequency you do them at is too little as it allows the bots to be profitable.
  • hire more GMs to detect bots. Honestly, how hard is it for a real life person to peek into instances where a lone mage has been sitting for 6 hours flying about. Perma-ban such blatant obvious botters on the spot.

I think your underestimating how much players care about it

Think of it this way.

Why do you work hard at work, try to get a good job, exc. When you could just live off unemployment and other government subsidises? Because there are things you want to have, instead of living in a small apartment and eating nothing but cheap food like cup of ramen which would take care of your basic needs. Instead of doing that you get a job and work to have a nicer loving condition, to have a computer, internet, hang out with friends, go shopping for things you want.

People want something, they try to get it.

Heck, some people play this game as collectors. Pets, recipes, weapons.

I raid with a weapon collector. He has over 100 weapons on his main and has almost no inventory room. It’s a running joke in our guild but it’s how he plays. He actively tries to farm dragons call even though his raid weapons are better. He has the dagger off princess from Mara. And he is a warrior with no Mana.

Everyone played the game different, this change restricts people from playing how they want to play without actually addressing the problem this change was supposedly made to address.

It’s only ironic to you because you failed to do the math to understand how truly unreachable that cap is to almost every person who will ever log into this game.

It’s perfectly reachable, see above.

Within 24 hours time you will be able to do 7 raids once AQ comes out

  • Plus farming for your T0.5
  • Farming NR gear inside Maraudon/Strat/Rend
  • Farming instances for specific mats
  • Druids collecting their Gnomeregan Mace

The number 30 needs to go away or changed to at least 50

If you really wanna ban the bots.
Ban those Chinese companies who organize the GDKP run, that’s how they sell gold. Without GDKP runs, u cant spend too much gold.

This needs more attention! Kaivax pls respond. Do this instead of locking me out of Gnomeregan!

Blizzard is out of touch. The original blizzard (who had a clue) released April fools ‘evil patch notes’ 1.11 (2006-04-01) that included limiting players to 40 instance resets per day.

Recently blizzard has implemented a solution that is 10 resets worse than the original APRIL FOOLS notes. Decisions like this is why BFA is a steaming pile. They are slowly but surely trying to make classic into BFA 2.0.

A guild mate asked me to solo some arena for his SGC tomorrow. I pointed out I only get 30 runs per day. He offered a lotus per 5 instances. 1 lotus probably isnt worth it…

This change is fun. Anyone know a good game that doesn’t limit you to 6 hours or so per day? 16 days left on my account. I’ll try to get my 6 hours per day worth of fun until time is up but after that I’m going to need something to play

just tell them. GDKP run is not allowed, then BAN those Chinse gold sellers and buyers ( hard punish buyers, so everyone will be scared and wont buy gold anymore). As long as GDKP run goes, people always find it’s cheap to buy gold instead of farming and spending your time by yourself. See the gold flows and ban them.

so if this cancerous addition is here to stay blizzard, how exactly can i check my daily lockouts because ive done bearly 15 today AND been out of a dungeon for over an hour yet cant get into a fkn dungeon

Anyone who’s so noble, not res anything, spend amount of time organize gdkp runs are gold sellers, some naive players appreciate their affort how they ruin the game :D.

Blizzard should do the god work instead of chilling there and praying players not buy gold.
