Lots of posts in favor of the change bring up Solo dungeon farming as a type of “exploit” that would have been changed if this was discovered in Vanilla. There’s video guides from way back in Vanilla that show Paladins/Mages soloing low level dungeons to boost alts/friends and hunters farming Tribute to refute this point
Beyond that, most of the dungeon “exploits” discussed are a result of Blizzard AI pathing and would require a major overhaul on Blizzard’s part to resolve. In fact, the DoT class (Warlocks, Druids, Hunters) 3-boss Mara route doesn’t even exploit terrain/mob pathing. You simply outrun the boss with movement speed skills/enchants/items. These are hardly exploits on the same level as bots terrain clipping and flying
Sure this change doesn’t impact the majority of players but it still impacts a group of the playerbase. I should not have to choose between helping a friend farm their Pre-raid gear or saving those lockouts for a farming session. Nor should I be locked out from current Raid content because I had farmed late into the night the day before to get the gold I need for consumes

Expect WoW token soon, it will be announced to “save the day” from botters.

When will Blizzard reply to the thousands of complaints?

Back again today to re-iterate that this is an unwelcome change. I’ll continue to be loud and obnoxious until resolved. Thx.

the best part is that Kaivax is still roaming the forums, just refuses to engage.

I can confirm that it is by account and not email address. Alt account locked out even after waiting an hour, main account on the same email address can still enter instances.

More and more this solution is clearly just the latest in a pattern of problem solving that either mis-identifies the problem outright or addresses the problem with such a small scope that it doesn’t consider the effects on the larger community. So many of the “solutions” to the new classic problems have been anti-community or anti-player in nature. MVP for everything is going to destroy your playerbase and the integrity of the game.
If the best solution you guys can come up with for botting and its ramifications is to cap the number of instances people can do per day then Classic CLEARLY needs more staff:
-
You need more community managers and a clearly defined process for working with your subscribers. Why are MVP changes handed down in blue posts instead of POLLING the community with what they want to see?
-
You need more engineers to implement changes so that youre not forced into a MVP box for every solution.

I don’t. “He ain’t got no 'tegrity.”
he is lacking tegrity. No one at blizzard has any tegrity no more
As to people claiming a bait and switch, there were no instance caps until 1.9 when they were first introduced. Blizzard never claimed they wouldn’t touch them again, they just haven’t had to in Retail.
They said “warts and all”. They lied. Repeatedly.

This affects so many more players than just the bots. SO many people are going to unsubscribe because of it. This is going to KILL what we have worked so hard to create in world of Warcraft classic. This does not effect bots enough to warrant this kind of change. PLEASE UN DO THIS BLIZZARD!!!

32.6K Views and almost 100 likes - maybe the decision makers should run their bad ideas by the community first?

you forget that Blizzard hides behind #nochanges,
so why this massive change?
Really, I don’t remember seeing #nochanges in a blue post other than in an ironic sense. In fact, #nochanges has been purely a community driven mcguffin purely to empower an, at best, fringe ideology. What they have said, and what they have been consistent in words and actions regarding, is that they will work to maintain the spirit of the original World of Warcraft, including all of the design choices they made which they later came to view as mistakes. #nochanges would require a time machine, and if anyone had a time machine I’m pretty sure WoW would be pretty low on their priority list.
the first and only (because of how awful the experience was) Ticket in classic WoW was to point out something that wasn’t in Vanilla, I was told that "the feature you are looking for is in BFA!! perhaps you should play that because #nochanges is very important to the community, but now I’m lying to you and saying that vanilla was like this (it wasn’t but maybe in 1.12 was… who knows)
They only like to hide behind it when it matches their agenda, otherwise it’s change anything/everything.
Better be careful, they may limit you to 5 posts an hour, 30 in 24 hours to eliminate all the bots complaining on here.

Oh really? Cant they just switch servers? Could cost them 30 seconds to make the swap I guess.
