This is by far one of the dumbest things I have seen when come to game changes to “fix” a problem. I dont even think you can call it a fix! Love how no one likes this, and they haven’t said a thing. If only they had phones they could have answered us.
Since money is all blizzard cares about, I too will be speaking with it and canceling my subscription till this stupid “fix” is removed.
I see a lot of people trying to back this change and fighting anyone against it on the forums.
However… I’ve yet to see one person properly defend this strategy for it’s intended purpose. Seems like even the people who don’t mind the change can’t say it will fix anything (almost like they are just here to argue about how much you should/shouldn’t play [TROLLS])
This will be the final nail in the coffin for my sub, please revert this garbage now. I see this hurting dedicated players more than it affecting bots. With p5 on the horizon Blizzard is just now combating “exploiting” methods. Which this isn’t even a real solution to fixing these methods just a limitation on how much you can do those methods. This is a bad decision since those that bot have backups and now they will just play around the realm limits. I’m better off playing on a private servers that actually have integrity and care for their community than this money grubbing sh*t show you have going on now. These bandaid “fixes” are just going to kill the game like you have in the past. Good job Blizzard, once again you have proven how out of touch with the community you are.
It’s actually going to be very easy to hit that…This isn’t going to be 30 instances per character, but a combined total from all your characters on that realm.
“This check is across all of your characters on your realm.”
So imagine if you are farming for specific gear on one character, in less than 10 minutes, you’ve hit your 5. Switch to a different character to do a similar check, That’s another 5, so already in less than half an hour, you’re down a third of your instance allotment.
That’s not adding in double, or triple raid nights with hitting up a DM for buffs if you want, but we’ll toss that in for later in the evening. So now you’re at 13 instances.
However, since most people now have multiple 60’s…Throw in a couple of carries for friends, or to help boost a low character of your own prior to your raid that evening, and now you’re at 18-19 or more?
The first 2 characters burned down a third in less than an hour, perhaps the care bear runs and boosts, burned down 2. That’s only 3-4 hours, so you’ve still got time to burn before your raid that evening.
This is a poorly thought out change, and shouldn’t even be implemented.
Unlike the many self proclaimed experts on this forum, I’m not going to comment on the effectiveness of this change in fighting botting because that’s not my area of expertise.
What is the intended purpose? To me it’s to stop some botting behavior but also the ones that are exploiting the practice just as indicated in the original post. This strategy helps to stop it full stop.
I like the change and I say it will fix those exploiting it. So your statement is now false in that at least one person says it will fix something.
As someone who Boost regularly and gets way more than 30 instances in a day, let say okay, this stands. Can ya’ll at least not give us a way to track instances. I can’t tell you how many times the instance bugs and bam, there’s two instances. To those who say you should be able to keep count, obviously you have never done it, therefor your “input” is not needed and irrelevant.
I guess I disagree then, from the bots individual perspective they will be hindered. From the player perspective there will be just as many bots, farming just as much, in more places.
They’re doing nothing and mainly affecting legitimate players. This was the littlest amount of effort a multi-million dollar company could give to a botting problem. Imagine if a doctor stuck a bandaid on a wound that clearly needed stitches. This is a similar situation. Blizzard failed.
