It’s okay for Blizzard to just randomly tinker with the economy?
They already did it with lotus (even tho it was trying to help solve the mega server problem they created)
but this 100% will effect the economy, it has to.
Boosts will cost more which will inflate other things as well, why is this okay?
They prolly believe that by doing the same thing china did they gonna combat the bots, not realizing that they … you know ban the bots.
And no we do not want the token in classic either. Hire people… spend money to fix the game. I bet by just typing that some CEO at Activision just got the shivers.
While I agree that we don’t want it on the whole, you should still expect it.
When this strategy is “oddly ineffective” they’ll “save” us with the WoW token.
Boosts and farming techniques are in the grey area at best when it comes to the EULA regarding exploitation/cheating.
From the EULA:
Cheating: Create, use, offer, promote, advertise, make available and/or distribute the following or assist therein:
- cheats; i.e. methods not expressly authorized by Blizzard, influencing and/or facilitating the gameplay, including exploits of any in-game bugs, and thereby granting you and/or any other user an advantage over other players not using such methods;
- As far as I know, only mages can really farm the ZF graveyard…
- Players paying for boosts level up significantly faster than those who don’t
- Players being boosted past content makes it harder for those who aren’t paying for boosts to find groups to run the same content, as it was intended
- Not every class can farm Dire Maul in the way that it’s been farmed. This can negatively impact the economy
Then the game is not worth playing (atleast for me). Aside from being treated like a nuisance and given shallow “solutions” and being flatout lied to by the company I actually wanted vanilla (or classic) and not some Private server abomination model of said game.
But I am good enough for em that they cash in the 15 dollars I spend every month.
Multiboxing should 100% be banned.
oh wait, Blizzard sanctioned cheating, so it’s okay.
It’s a good thing Blizzard doesn’t ban people breaking the ToS/EULA.
Yeah I am already on my way out, the writing is on the wall.
WoW token is coming, they will continue to mismanage TBC just as badly if not worse. I can’t watch them flush this game into the crapper again.
Yeah, that’s always been a head-scratcher.
You and your entire team never cease to amaze me how utterly moronic you all are. Once again you’ve made a change that hurts real players instead of addressing the root problem (bots).
You nimrods do know that you made an April fools joke about this exact same thing back in 2006?
Obviously I need to educate you all on your own game history. Since you troglodytes have no understanding or respect for the history of this game.
Here’s the post by Community Manager Caydiem:
With the many improvements to end-game dungeons implemented last patch, we decided that it was necessary to limit the number of times a player can enter a dungeon per day. This was done to prevent the economy from being flooded with overly valuable items, and to ensure that players weren’t acquiring too much gold during what we’d consider a reasonable amount of play-time. We realize that many players enjoy repeated trips to their favorite dungeons, so we’ve made this new limitation as least restrictive as possible. Each character on a player’s account may enter the same dungeon up to three times per day, and may visit a total of five dungeons over the course of a twenty-four hour period. Keep in mind, each character on your account is flagged separately so with eight characters, that’s a total of 40 dungeon-runs per day!
Thirty lock outs in a 24 hour period is pizza money to me. I understand you liberal trash have this fetish of controlling every aspect of how someone wishes to live there life. If I want to go hard and farm for 18 hours and do over 90 dungeons in that period. That is my choice to make, not yours!
You all should be ashamed off yourself!
That would require they have dignity in the first place. I feel anyone who had dignity in Blizzard is long gone.
They obviously don’t think they can fix it fast enough so this is a stop gap measure.
Hi, Blizzard!
I’m sure you’ve done extensive testing and gathered a wide range of community feedback before implementing this hotfix that will in no way affect the average player and completely eliminate the problem of bots that are so cleverly avoiding your vast and super helpful corps of GMs.
However, I’m not very happy about it. I’ve slept on it, considered the ways in which it will effect my single account on a single realm and have decided that if your implementation is not reversed by one week I will be leaving your game. This game and every other game you ever make.
No. You’re buying in to Blizzard’s snake oil. Blizzard is not willing to put forth the resources to combat the bot problem in Classic or retail, so they put up things like this and ban waves that, “look” good to the average player but in reality are completely ineffectual.
Sadly, like with ban waves catching innocent players, this hurts real players.
I don’t know what they’re doing and you don’t either.
Blizzard’s REALLY out done themselves this time… And that’s NOT a good thing…
All I can say is TBC can’t come soon enough for where the instance farming meta isn’t a thing.
I’ve never posted in the forums, but this change upset me so much here I am. I have 4 accounts linked under my same email, and it appears that all 4 accounts are counted together towards my 30/day lockout for Netherwind. Should I delete the other 3 and restart under a new email to avoid paying quadruple for the same lockout I can get paying for one account per realm per day? Anyways, just wanted to know if this is working like intended before I and thousands other cancel our duplicate accounts being used against us. Cheers… I’ll be cancelling all four of my accounts in a week as I consider this policy change by Blizzard a deviation from the terms I signed up for when I purchased my account subs.
I know what they’ve done for a decade or more, and how it hasn’t worked in the slightest, and how this has no impact on bots.
You mean like shutdown honorbuddy?
No impact eyy?
Did nothing eyy?
There are actually bots in BGs right now in Classic.
