I’d have a blast in old av. People clearly enjoyed it.
And no. I wouldn’t want them to add post vanilla changes even if it lasted less then an hour, which I highly doubt eould happen.
I’d be happy with having OG av.

So are walking and running animations fixed? The excessive armor clipping beyond even vanilla?
The mount clipping beyond vanilla? If so why isn’t it in retail?
HERE IS A graph to look at
OLD model----------New model
NEmaleDance | NEmaleDance (old made in classic, but new model has same path)
NEmaleattack | NEmaleattack (old made in classic, but new model has same path)
------------ | NEmagespecial (never made with old model in mind)
This can’t work from old to NEW but it works from NEW TO OLD

Is the armor clipping, mount clipping, and walking and running animations that were buggy fixed or not?
YES because old would be using the same exact OLD animations…
the new can easily still use the new ones

Hope not…I want to make a Gnome Warrior and get me an Ashkandi so it’s twice my height lol.

Quoting this for future reference.

[/quote]Then I will agree it could he added. But the moment it causes issues it’s gone.

I’m not talking about the issues it had during vanilla. The model toggle caused additional issues with clipping. Beyond those in vanilla.

Like they said, warts and all…
are you dumber then a box of rocks? IT"S ALREADY FIXED!
it’s easy to match the new models with the old because THEY HAVE ALL THE SAME ANIMATIONS + MORE, this is why it was hard to make the old work with the NEW, and why they redid the old to have the new animations.
you are wrong.

Apparently some people don’t want that.

i love your highly critical response that has enlightened me in your way of thinking.

Yeah, that’s fine. I actually care about getting AV right which is why I advocate for 1.5 AV with some of the changes from 1.6 and an extensive test to see exactly how it plays out and whether or not it needs non-vanilla changes or number tuning.
I practically lived in AV in 2005, I got to rank 10 twice, mostly by playing AV. I don’t want some no-change mantra ruining the opportunity to get AV right.

See that’s the thing. I’d rather have a frankenpatch of the best of vanilla then straight 1.12. Add pre 1.11 threat outside of naxx so that content isn’t steamrolled and hybrids aren’t left behind.

That’s the thing though, I’m asking a hypothetical question that may or may not come to pass. We don’t have the data showing how 1.5 AV is going to play with the 1.12 game. The difference is I care more about the outcome and you care more about not violating some no-change philosophy that isn’t synonymous with getting us the best version of Classic, or the most authentic version.
I’m interested in telling Blizzard why 1.5 or 1.6 AV was so fun, and then having them do what is necessary to return us to those epic battles. It might be as simple as using 1.5 AV, it might not be. If it turns out that the battles are just short zergfests that end in under an hour, people like you will just say “oh well, at least we got no-changes”.

I do love the old epic feeling of av. The objectives. Making your npcs stronger, etc. Modern av is just a zerg.
Let’s say Blizzard decides to go with 1.5 AV and during beta the battles last for 45 minutes. Do you just say “oh well, we tried” and go on your merry no-change way
Pretty much, yes. We want the game to exist as it was. The meta that arises will be what it will be.

At least you’re honest.
At least you’re honest.
1.5 AV was designed in a way that made zerg tactics almost impossible. The pacing was much slower, because enemy NPCs were much more frequent and more difficult to kill. If those changes are made and zerging still becomes the popular strategy, there’s not much else to do about it.
