Starting a new server doesn’t require them to figure out how to program RDF properly.
You dont release a fresh TLP in the middle of a Classic TLP… Never seen it done like this before and its crap.
That’s a nice pipe dream, but Let’s be honest here, these servers are DoA. Serious players are already stocking up in preparation for wotlk, no way they are leaving for a mirage.
This server is just going to be a bunch of AoE mages or w/e is the fastest to 55. Rerolling to DK, face rolling to max level and then griefing/bullying lowbies for 2 months. At that point they will quit from frustration or just hop back to their mains.
One way or another the things people are bringing up are going to happen.
Best to just lock it down, give these dreamers some hope that the server will survive, and let it die off quietly. Over in the corner.
While the rest of us go back to how things really are in the World… of Warcraft.
Still waiting for that hug.
Can we get 1-2 servers devoted to tbc classic? one of my favorite exps and would love to continue playing the endgame with my toons… would possibly pay to continue playing on a tbc server
Not happening.
You know what you did.
Which realm types do you plan to include with the fresh start realms?
Will there be RP or RP-PVP realms?
There is! Sorta. It isn’t perfect, and takes a long time. But the good news is that it’s consistent with the original game design way back in vanilla!
See, the 5% AH tax does work to remove gold from the economy- it removes more gold the higher prices are, and less when they’re lower. Over time, in a world with only AH transactions moving money around, this would create a somewhat stable economy…
SO, if we apply the same 5% tax to gold being handed from player to player, i.e. GDKP purchases, think about what will happen:
It won’t stop GDKPs from being the best way to make gold quickly.
It won’t stop bot farming and RMT selling from being profitable.
It certainly won’t stop cheating swipers, if they’ll spend 200$ on gold to buy pixels with they’ll spend 210$.
But it WILL cause inflation to slow, and prices to normalize over time.
Even better, it will work along the exact same lines as was intended in the original game design, and be consistent with the spirit of classic!
Think it over.
I don’t understand the point of fresh realms tbh.
I don’t want to abandon my character I’ve spent years building up.
I don’t want to lose my few thousand gold I earned by farming Fel Weed lmao.
Would you just throw it all away?
As for new players, sure, whales with gold will have an advantage over you with BoE’s and fast flying, but in a well established economy, a lot of things are straight up cheaper and more accessible, are they not?
More players = more farmers.
More players = higher variety of goods available.
More farmers = more AH dumps
More AH items = cheaper items.
Like, on a fresh server you’d need to farm up 20 Righteous orbs, and they will be expensive on fresh at first, but on big realms they go for pennies now.
It’s just my personal 2 cents.
Not to mention, on non-fresh realms, returning players can just boost to 70, do a few quests to replace Communal gear & join dungeons with decked out SWP geared folks and, generally speaking, have “easier” time.
This is a poor concept carried out by pirate server players.
These players have never been attached to their characters or progress. They all knew they were bound to lose it at some point. So they kept hopping between pirate servers and always "freshing’.
I play World of Warcraft because I know I can carry on my progress. I have both retail and classic characters and I would hate to lose them or what I have accomplished or gathered.
Freshers are not attached to it, because they never had it to begin with.
I don’t think your the player that this is targeted for. This is for players that haven’t played Classic before that just want to come back for WOTLK. I won’t be playing this server for same reason listed. But I can see why some would want to play.
Blizzard could fix the economy transfer problem by setting all items as soulbound (and non vendorable) when transferred to a Fresh Start realm.
You’r right. I suppose there will be an audience for that…but will that be enough?
Like, realistically, can we get another Faerlina 2.0 with 30k players? I’d be really surprised. Or even like 5,000 or so to create a somewhat “healthy” realm.
I don’t see how it’s “DoA” like people say. People are saying serious players are already farming and gathering stuff for wrath.
The 90 xfer will be a problem. Potentially the bots too if not addressed.
Not everyone is playing TBC. I play SoM and I am a serious players waiting for wrath. I was considering making something on Sulfuras yesterday but after seeing this blue post I’ll just wait.
Don’t be dead set that everyone who wants wrath/is serious is already pre-farming. Some people like the idea of new servers. Starting from lvl 1. Not being on 10k+ pop servers. Joining and growing with a community. Probably several thousand players like that out there. Which is more than enough for a good server.
I can see both sides but others should be more open and accepting of the ideas. With it being I’m right and you’re wrong.
The server will likely have queues when it is launched, a lot of people will try that to see how it goes, but I bet most people will rush to level their death knight also on established realms, so we have to wait to see it.
Unless all sweaty gamers move to this realm, it will be pretty bad and have almost no economy. Imagine not having the clothes to level your first aid or the leather to level your leatherworking while you level, that means you’re going back to get those at 80, because it will be not on the AH for sure.
LFD please.
Well, you almost got it right. Too bad this one detail ruins it entirely. Ill experience true fresh on Warmane.
oh, that pirate server where the organizers sell gold and max level characters full decked to chinese.
Great fresh experience.
I will make character on fresh server and level up 1-80 and enjoy all the way. Then maybe AH prices will fall down and i can buy all the things cheap i want to.
I dont see a problem as a casual player. Except those people who spread hate and toxicity.
Still a better fresh than 90 day flood gates
