As of February 6, 2009 (patch 3.0.8a), the Ahn’Qiraj gates will automatically be open on all new future realms
They clearly stated that fresh server will be in WOTLK state from state. Meaning in 3.3.5. So, the gates will be open from start.

90 days needs to be extended to a full year and the bots/GDKP’s need to be dealt with harshly. No point in doing fresh if people with gold cap and full raid BIS can xfer in when we’re still in naxx. No point in rolling fresh if bots are just going to mindlessly AoE farm gold to sell 24/7 for months. No point in rolling fresh when one of the biggest culture issues, GDKP’s, will still run rampant.
Also implement RDF already - there’s absolutely 0 reason why we should have to suffer through the “LF AoE dungeon grinding +3 mages” nonsense we went through in classic where half the classes get shafted because they can’t AoE well or at all and so they fall behind the pack
Why not just create 2 and let people xfer only through these… whats the point of boosts / xfers ? If its 90 or 180 days makes no difference, no matter how many days it is, the moment the day hits the server is dead.
Honestly, I don’t see why they won’t allow the service.
They are worried about boost abuse, but I don’t see why they couldn’t code “Is boosted?” “Yes.” “Only one per account.”
Once there is a boosted character on the account, it switches that account to ‘Has used a boost’ and that’s that.
Unless they just want folks with multiple accounts to keep paying subs, as that is more lucrative over time.
Seriously doubt everyone in your guild had gold cap gold. We are talking about whales not the raider in your guild with 10k.
Needs to be all of wotlk because classic is going to die if the bots/farmers/gdkp’s aren’t taken care of and they decide to go with cata classic so once wotlk is over and people get their fill of it it won’t matter
More importantly, will you be banning bots and RMTers this time around, or will you only ban “once every fiscal quarter” in waves?
There will always be a mega server, because people don’t like playing on dead/low pop realms, and for good reason.
90 Days is way too small of a restriction. Should be at least 180 days. No one in, no one out. No boosts, ever.
Also, ironic that I randomly resubbed to level some characters for Wrath. I’d much rather fresh start it.
Care to share yours, I would accept.
Still sounds a lot far-fetched to me while they can simply sell for same price and make a lot more profit than simply crashing the market for reasons that no one can actually reason with other than “crashing the market and making others’ items lose value”.
You don’t need to chose, because the gold scale will peak higher and you will be at loss when that happens. Anyone that captured over 100k gold or close to it will not throw their gold away just to “crash” the market, while they can simply dump their products at same price and still sell it.
It is easier for the market to be actually inflated and people have to spend a LOT GOLD to buy the most basic things since from day 1 the 24x7 farmers will also level and dominate all farming spots, while the little guy with false hopes given by freshers will suffer the worst to the point to return to the previous realm.
If anything, anyone being unselfish and coming to the realm 90 days later with so much items/consumables will be actually saving the realm from starvation and dead economy.
Seems that you guys are trying to picture a scenario that will never work, just like socialism.
They should be like FFXIV and post everytime they do ban waves and what type of ban it was.
It’s better than being left in the dark. At least we can see action is being taken.
These servers are DOA.
Hey Blizz, I’ll pay a higher subscription fee to keep transfers and boosts off these servers forever.
Oh, and don’t remove dungeon finder from Wrath either.
It’s Black Spiced Chai, its pretty good. I add half and half and some sugar. Do you have a type you like?
While true, it does not introduce new gold into the economy unless you’re buying items to then vendor on the new realm. The problem is inflation, which only happens when new gold is being introduced (people transferring with gold/bots farming gold).
If people are spending their gold on investments to resell on the new server, that doesn’t cause inflation, so it’s not a big deal. It can tank some prices (IE: someone buys 5000 Lichbloom to resell, price of Lichbloom tanks for a week), but again, not a long-term problem.
I will 100% support no transfers on and off these realms.
LoL. The goldbot army will be waiting at the end of the rainbow for all of your RMT-GDPK needs.
You and the 18 people on the server can keep it
At the end of the day, even if they disable transfers forever…RMT will still be a thing and this server will just be the same as the rest unless they increase detection and punishments for doing it.
It is sad, but if anything people just need to go to Terrokar and look for themselves the Tree spawns on Skettis, the gas clouds full of hunters / druids with no gear and an engineering goggles with no gem or enchant (no guild also) in Nagrand / Shadowmoon valley and even in Netherstorm.
Plus, we all know that the “top guilds” of the fresh realm will RMT selling gear for “socials”. It is the best place for them to reap good chunk of money.
Imagine having your guild t o barely go through Naxxramas when there is a dude full of Ulduar gear guildless walking around.
Not to mention that the current Arena rating changes now favors even more for RMT since you don’t even need to remain in the team. It is all personal rating!
A whole new realm just for quitters? I wonder how long that’ll last.
RDF needs to be enabled on the Fresh realms. It will be way too painful otherwise.
