What’s the point playing Wotlk when Cata is around the corner. Not leaving a couple TBC servers open is a kick in the teeth. For that reason I’ll be ending my subscription. I only came back to play TBC because after Wotlk the rest of the content is terrible. Lol

You really should be using phasing and let the entire player base use the same realm…
No dead realms, plenty of player base to form dungeon groups, pvp battlegroungs, etc.
Cummunity will not be lost but will take a new path as they will develop naturally as they do in the real world through interaction.
Same here, my friends and I stopped playing until fresh servers come out

Letting people consolidate their accounts with account > account transfers would be nice. I will jump through all the hoops you need.
I’d love to see a fresh pair of TBC servers, one each for pvp and pve. This is my personal preference to keep my subscription. Not really interested in WotLK. Maybe I would stay for Classic Era if they implemented the idea below. Otherwise, no sense to play Classic Era.
They should also merge all of the Classic Era servers into one pve and one pvp server. First players that log on, get to keep their names. They are the active players anyway. Not perfect, but it will be a permanent solution to this mess.
Keep it simple.

Are we confirmed that Oceanic will get a fresh start WOTLK server?
Nothing about the number/type/region of the new servers is confirmed.
I personally wouldn’t recommend joining a new OCE server its unlikely to hit critical mass of players to stay viable.
Only Felstriker seems to be having any issues.
Yes but a new OCE server is only going to be popular for a percentage of OCE players. Much like its only popular for a percentage of US players

Assuming similar percentages OCE will have about 10% of the players of the US servers.
200 ping is nothing in WoW so the only reason to play OCE is raid times.
The US servers are too crowded.
They should just merge the BG queue again.
Really wish I had a target date for when I could make my death knight. How much effort do I want to invest in this shaman?

Depends on which servers you mean. Even excluding the group set to close, there are 2 <700 (Earthfury/Old Blanchy), and 3 more <1,500 (Myzrael/Bloodsail/Azuresong). None of those are ‘too crowded’ by any stretch - at least a few of them haven’t fully unlocked the Isle yet.
And all of them are significantly worse if horde. Not to mention that there’s already significant talk of more guilds leaving after they hit 80, and we’ll likely lose some to fresh servers or just attrition as well.
Why not ban GDKPs on this fresh servers for it to be like a kind of benchmark on how the game could be, would love to see how the economy develops.

How about 2 “Fresh Start” TBC servers (pvp and pve). Or even just one, pvp or pve? I’ll take either. Try that experiment: one single TBC community all on one server – just allow for 20 characters per account on it so there is always an alt to level up!
