No. There shouldn’t. Otherwise, you get all horde running on the PvP realm and all ally on the PvE. And then the game just becomes a minigame of dungeons and no social experiences.
There better be a quick follow announcement of PvE. Are you joking. Are you that distance from your player base?

I think making the single server PvE is definitely the move. PvP is something you can opt into there, but on PvP servers you cannot opt out.
If there are any PvP server andys fighting for exclusively PvP servers they are not very intelligent. You seem like a reasonable dude so kudos to you for that.
Whatever we get I will be happy with personally, but I just worry about the amount of players unhappy with this choice.

Very disappointed in this announcement. The PvP and PvE split has always been a part of classic, and for those who were excited for Fresh, it seems very weird to only have one option there. PvE allows for people who want to enjoy the world of the game to do so, PvP forces those players into a very specific interaction with the world that many do not enjoy.
I really hope Blizzard reconsiders here, but considering how close this announcement is coming to launch, I just feel very disappointed in this move.

How out of touch can Blizzard get? 1 PvP realm is the right call. However not having 1 PvE realms is just absurd. Do they want fresh to fail so they don’t have to put the time or effort into fresh for future xpacs?

I totally misread what Blizz would do… these next few weeks are going to be crazy. Leveling in the open world is going to be slow due to overpopulation and ganking. But long term, this is probably a healthier way to go.

Having two servers would cause it to fail as well. There is barely enough interest to support one server, much less two.

I suspect it’s roughly less than 20%; a similar number as is reflected by the number of players logging raids on Normal servers. Though of course, only the people who were looking forward to having a Normal server are the ones who are complaining about the lack.
And to be sure, I feel ya. It sucks for people who wanted a Normal Fresh server to only have a fresh PVP server. If it had been the other way around, I would be disappointed that there was only a Normal Fresh server, but I’d still play on it.
I agree with this. I just hope that it’s large enough for queues to not be so absurd that gearing in prepatch becomes untenable.

The Normal playerbase appears to be somewhat less than 20% of the PVP playerbase for Classic, at least as represented by raid logs on IronForgePro.
