I recently subbed again after many years to play wotlk again… but there’s the Queue Issue, I started on a fresh server but now there’s a 3 hour queue and can’t play the game and noticed the following things that are causing the issue on fresh servers with some proposed short/long term solutions:
1- There isn’t any multi language server (spanish is my main language).
I’ve noticed there’s a huge portuguese and latin american community in Skyfury, being the only fresh servers it seems that this particular server is saturated with streamers and multilanguage community, there needs to be at least one moderated multilanguage server and offer freetransfers from anyone who desires so we can start growing our communities.
I know there’s been other spanish speaking servers that ended up dead but WOTLK was THE EXPANSION when most of us got to try the game (it was at this time blizz started to sell physical gametime and disk to us) so it is by far more popular than TBC and classic in latin america, then open free transfers once the 90 day period ends to this realm, there’s a huge latin america community in faerlina and other realms so we could gather in to one big server later on to avoid it dying.
2.- There’s only 1 PVP server in west coast
We need another fresh PvP server in east coast, a lot of people that lives in Latam gets horrible ping in west coast, east is a somewhat neutral zone that many can play with acceptable ping, we don’t need many new servers, just another option for us that love World PvP honestly normal realms arent really that popular for us, we had 3 spanish speaking servers and two of them are PvP (were) and the Pve one only started to thrive once warmode got introduced.
TL;DR We need another fresh pvp server for east coast, move latin american players to another fresh server, then populate it later on with free transfers if it starts to die out.
There was servers for latin/portuguese/brazil at one point before. Those servers died. These were so low in population, blizzard closed them down and those who wanted to stay playing got to move to NA realms. No sense opening up servers specifically for this community when they had their own servers before and they were so small, they died.
Well both classic and TBC were never really popular since we didn’t have access to WoW until Wotlk prepatch.
Their mistake was opening many realms for unpopular expansions, right now we only need 1 single server since wotlk was our first exposition to World of Warcraft, realms were at their peak during this expa, past 90 days of fresh start they should go and open up transfers there, there’s a really large community of spanish / portuguese speaking people in mega realms (a lot of horde in faerlina speaks spanish) / skyfury tbh many would just take the transfer if they knew there’s gonna be a realm where they can speak their language.
But these expansions were popular elsewhere, like in north americafor example. OG Classic and TBC were extremely popular. They gave Latin America their own servers to enjoy, but there wasn’t enough of a player base so the servers closed.
Trust me, and I apologize if this comes off offensive in any sort of way but I’m sure most of us on NA realms who are English speakers would love to give Latin America their own individual realms back. The language barrier really is hard to deal with sometimes. However, knowing Blizzard, this is not likely to happen because from their perspective, they tried to do it before, and it just didn’t work.
I would LOVE for there to be a server dedicated to this! I can’t tell you how many times a language barrier has caused a pug to fail on benediction. Twice yesterday,on sulfuras, I wiped a pug while mind controlled because the pugs spoke a different language and I was unable to make them understand that you had to kill the mc totems. This singular issue brings me more frustration than anything else in world of Warcraft. I’d happily sit in queues if, when I finally logged in, I’d be playing with people I could communicate with.
The language barrier is frustrating both ways. Sadly blizzards solution has always been to lump SA players into NA servers. I would have thought by now some sort of ingame translation would be baked into chat.
