My thing with Anon around here is it would just have to be heavily moderated and, honestly, I don’t think the current moderation team would be able to handle it… especially (if per the lizard) to just keep scrolling and not block.

If you aren’t going to read them then what’s the point of having a logical discussion. “Oh it has to be a subscription service” ok so the wow forums you can only POST if you have a sub… you can still READ them if you don’t have a sub.
You seem to be underestimating trolls who have too much money. They don’t care how much money it takes because they have plenty to spend.
A sub does NOT stop trolling.
And iirc, you can be banned from the forums and still play WoW itself. So they can be paying for the game without caring if they get banned from the forums for trolling.
I think the current moderation can handle it, but with them having to moderate every Blizzard owned forum, the resources would be stretched a bit too much where they’d be working under a stressful environment.
Plus, Blizzard knows why anonymity posting is a really bad idea, which is why they won’t even look at the idea.
So how would you address Doxing and corn that pops up when it needs to be moderated? If I can’t block the user and the report function only has so many flags, what is the proposal for that?
How can anonymous posting be the best option if, according to you, it is inferior to BattleTags?
You said that you hated the idea of not posting as your character. But Anonymous posting would destroy that forever while a BattleTag system could be configured to also show your character.
So we are in agreement that BattleTags are the best way forward to increase the safety of the forums.
So you’re saying I’m lying? That I made up the abuse I received by an anonymous person? That I lied about someone telling me to off myself repeatedly, telling me I didn’t deserve to live?
Because that messed me up and I almost listened to them. And do you know what happened to them? Nothing. Because they were anonymous and didn’t face any repercussions.
Why would I lie about that? Because it doesn’t fit your narrative? You’re showing your true colors. You don’t care about victims of anon abuse and hate.
