All races could, for sure. Well… maybe not worgen, haha. But to have a character like Lady Ashvane in the game and not release customization like hers was just wrong, so wrong.
No love for Humans???
Couldn’t we get some tattoos, scars and warpaint too?
I think the Forsaken should really have scars, metal plates and the option of a stitched up mouth.
They will never add more real options, only new hair colors and eye colors(rarely).
Pretty much everyone would benefit from tattoos or scars. I avoided “generic” requests like tattoos, scars or hair colors unless it was specific for some race that has it as a cultural thing but doesn’t have current options for that.
And, since I also couldn’t think of anything specific for humans, I left them out. Feel free to make suggestions.
When they are against the races’s aesthetic/racial background/ethnic look, as many of yours are, and/or serve no real purpose, as many of yours do, people should be against them.
I really wish people would stop trying to make the races less unique instead of more unique.

I’ve seen this kind of faux logic in these threads before. “Oh, this doesn’t make sense”, and then Blizzard goes and does it. Straight-back orcs? Eredar options for Draenei? Blackened eyes for night elves? Dark Ranger skins for blood elves? At some point any suggestions like that were shot down by this narrow mindset, and yet they are all available nowadays.
Almost every single option I suggested has either basis on lore or complements the race’s aesthetics.
Things like orc eyebrows, troll beards, blood/void elf tattoos, dark schlera eyes for void elves: all of them are used by NPCs or featured in the RTS games, Hearthstone, concept art and so on. Even the worgen tails were referenced in books at some point!
In some places I may suggest something like purple eyes for night elves, which we haven’t seen yet, but that’s just a cosmetic option that mix well with night elf visuals. Same is true for the worgen tail.
And ultimately, all you do is deny people options. How come adding tails would ruin your immersion or game experience? You don’t have to use them, and probably a lot of players wouldn’t use them, but it would be a popular addition and would add well to the race’s aesthetics, so there’s no need to be against it.

I really wish people would stop trying to make the races less unique instead of more unique.
How come adding tails to worgen would make them “less unique”? That makes no sense.
My personal wishlist:
Death Knight
- Eyes: Red (blood), Green (unholy), Orange (burning/Bolvar), Grey-black (Maw), Teal (Maldraxxus), Cyan (Bastion), Indigo (Ardenweald), Crimson/Dark Red (Revendreth)
Orc
- Skin: Blackrock grey-green (same rocky textures as the mag’har Blackrock skin colour)
- Eyes: Blackrock orange (same as mag’har)
- Extra: oshu’nei (half-draenei) options (blue hair and eyes, maybe some skin colours as well)
Mag’har
- Skin: Blackrock pale grey (i.e. Blackhand), tattoos/scars separated from the Warsong/Laughing Skull skin colours
- Extra: oshu’nei options (same as orc)
Draenei
- Skin: more purple and aqua shades, grey, man’ari/penitent purple
- Eyes: more shades of existing colours, i.e. deeper blue, light green, etc.
- Hair: Black, darker shades of existing blues, greens, purples, and reds
- Body: Scar/tattoo options, broken horns, more asymmetrical horn options
- Extra: oshu’nei options (green/brown/grey/black skin, green/red/orange eyes, clan tattoos, etc.)
(I know we have zero canon examples of half-orc/half-draenei characters who resemble draenei but a guy can dream right?)
Lightforged Draenei
- Skin: Onyx/Black (same as the one normal draenei got a couple patches ago)
- Eyes: More shades of yellow, blue and purple
- Hair: Black, darker shades of existing colours
- Body: More broken horn options, more asymmetrical horns, scars, damaged/severed tails
Human / Kul Tiran / Blood Elf / Void Elf / Undead
- Head: half-elf ears
…
I like the Blackrock clan, draenei, and half-races if that wasn’t obvious.
Night Elves - Upturned ear options (like in the cinematics)
Worgen - Cata Alpha model options.

- Give Night elves should have the “narrow/wide” eye option like Nightborne do.
YES this is what I want soooo bad as someone who has mained Nelf since the start! They used to have such fierce feline eyes before the hideos WoD model update made them all bug eyed!
Bigger, better, badder beards for kul tiran gents. And some seaworthy tattoos for both the sons and daughters of the sea.
An idea I’ll edit into the original post:
All races
-
Split “Face” option into two: “Face” and “Expression”. Currently, faces are defined by a combo of texture and facial bones. The new “Face” option selects the texture of the face, while the “Expression” option sets the facial bones. That way you can mix and match both to find new combos.
For an in-game example: If you go to void/blood/night elves and select the “Dark Ranger” skin, it has a single face texture that does not change. The “Face” setting just changes the bones, as the new “Expression” setting would be.
There are a few races, like Pandaren, Worgen or Vulpera, that do not have facial bones. It would be nice to add a few “Expression” options for them.
I’d love more fur colors and patterns for Panda and Vulpera.
Panda could really use some updates, I don’t think it’s gotten much since debut other than the blue DK furs.
Here’s a profession suggestion.
Cooking
I’d like a cooking quest where we feed a living cookbook live ingredients. The objective would be to damage beast mobs enough so that the cookbook can eat them, and in return he vomits out exotic foods… and a lot of poisons and things which debuff us and transform our characters in various ways.
The ultimate reward would be a monster themed cookbook battlepet, kind of like the Necronomicon from Evil Dead, and cooking rewards appropriate to the profession.
Also, give us the ability to put our names on our gear, or simply name our gear. For example “Robes of Kittredge of the Black Harvest” or something like that. And it can be associated with inscription, which gives it additional layers of complexity.
ALSO! Let us name our mounts.
Tracking this!
I have a megathread somewhere that i can combine with these for WW alpha. Will post soon!
I wish you the best of luck in getting your demands met… I always think that more customization is a pro for the game.
Thanks!
I hope Blizzard give us a new look on customization in TWW. It doesn’t need to cover everything, nor be as big as the one in Shadowlands, but some races really need it.
If not, I hope they at least keep adding stuff every patch. A lot of the suggestion done at the start of Dragonflight ended up being realized during it. At a snail’s pace, but we got it.
I was having trouble with female customization for several races. Males are easy: just ask for beards, mustaches and sideburns, and you get lots of possible combos. But females (except dwarves, lol) don’t have that luxury.
So, after some conversations on this thread, I think a nice idea is to add makeup, like humans have. The following races could get makeup for their females:
- Gnomes
- Draenei
- Blood elves
- Goblins
- Void elves
- Lightforged draenei
- Kul tirans
- Mechagnomes
Maybe it could also be added for others, but I feel those are the ones who would benefit most from it. I’ll add these suggestions on the OP.
