So far the meta seems to be to not use the tool at all, getting groups on beta is an ordeal with almost no one queueing up.

Nobody is using it because right now it’s not any better than finding a group or player in chat. Most people I’ve seen that actually use it still use chat to find people because it’s faster than players coming to you.
Maybe all this changes when they get on a realm with more people in it, but right now it’s a dud. It’s just a shoddy UI that slows down the process.

Its just a big scam for them to introduce Mythic+ into WOTLK later on
It’s not even a scam at this point, they’ve already said they’re adding “challenge modes” which will almost certainly just be mythic+. Doing anything actually interesting is beyond the current dev team based on everything we’ve seen from them so far in classic.

Considering how faceroll WotLK dungeons are I don’t think it will ever be an issue at all.
no one does that in TBC and the heroics are harder. stop dooms-daying and being babies.

people most definitely do this already, people were asking for Naxx geared players for Ramparts normal on release, and they were asking for T6+ for both Normal and Heroic MGT on phase 5 release.

Some of us does not equal all of us though.
That was pretty much only for week 1 of release of those things . People at the start of the expansion wanted strong groups to push content faster and get ahead of the curve. Within a couple of weeks heroic groups were pretty much only excluding people based on class and not gear and it has held for pretty much all of TBCC.
The angry doom and gloom nonsense here is silly. The first week will probably have plenty of gear requirements on groups because it is entirely a reasonable expectation to find people who meet them. Once the initial rush is over it will be fine with regards to gear/class gatekeeping because you will no longer be able to easily expect a full group of bis geared players like you can on launch.
Raids will be gatekept by ilvl, gearscore, or logs probably but dungeons/heroics more than likely will not especially considering WotLK has easy dungeons and does a much better job of solving class imbalance with regards to toolkits.
