The only druid unlock I want, care about, and is one of the ones that would actually make some sense given their close ties to the Kaldorei people, is draenei.
I sleep on everything else. Wake me up when draenei druids are a thing.
Oh, and our travel form better be a talbuk, or I’m going to have some Words with someone.
Pretty sure at this point, that when we get Druids for all races, they will all get standard shapeshifthing forms, and not hyper individual ones as some here are praying for (mecha forms, undead forms, panda forms).
The release of this many new shapeshifting forms in 10.2 really leads me to believe that we get druid-for-all in 10.2.5, where the idea is you customize with those, instead of getting of them having to spend ages making super special individual forms for every race
Everyone here is VERY cynical and they don’t realize that races don’t NEED unique forms.

That was all that was unique. We didn’t start getting FANCY forms until Cata.
That fancy form was specifically just for Trolls because they got a bat form. Then High Mountain got a special Flight Form & Travel Form. Then Ztrolls & Kul’Tiran got it all.
But Glyphs like the Sentinel Owl and even the Special Passenger Lunarwing are just shared without a new recolor.
Then consider how they’re adding all these new forms.
If anything ALL they have to do is slap 1 recolor for Bear or Cat onto them, and call it day.
Heck, until recently unique Paladin mounts weren’t even a thing for several races. They got added in.
SHAMAN is the only race that requires a special asset.
lore wise pre third war scourge invasion they had druids. remember when the scourge invaded 90% of the elves of quel’thalas were wiped out meaning they lose alot of culture from more older elves who were killed.
They’ll probably go with assets taken from Maldraxxas. Slime cats for feral, maybe the boars for Guardian, Balance would be tougher, maybe modify the KT boomchicken to look more zombie like. The ox for travel form, bloat fly for flight etc.
Not to mention Quel’thelas HAS a world tree that they used as an anchor for their city’s protection. It also is part of why their forest is always the same season. PLUS Thas’dorah was made from its branches and dipped in the sunwell.
Before they decided to add Worgen to the Alliance. The Class unlock for Draenei was going to be Druids in Cataclysm. They’ve openly said this. So they’ve probably already got a solid lore foundation tucked away.
and the ancient druidic rune stones that surrond the border connected to it AND to the sunwell that prevents magic from being noticed by demons or leaking out which they made due to the events of the war of the ancients. hopefully there is still some old elves who survived who can teach it to others as the druidic magic is sorta required for maintaining the differnt arcane sanctums. i know there is a rogue in the short story a good war who at least was alive since they arived in tirasfal glades and his mother from what he said lived until the third war which means there are possibly still some if only a handleful left but heck now with the nightborn druidism can spread to both the nightborn and blood elves should have some new students
PLUS the game has shown that if a race fits into 1 spec. They get the whole class.
Blood Elves practice Nature magic in the world and could fit Resto.
Plus Balance is now all about Arcane & The Solar System. Which you know the Sunwell. Plus they’re now politically linked as a people to Suramar more then the Horde by marriage.
So with the Arcandor and their botanists. It just furthers their lore standing.
But people will still fight it because they dont want to see ppl playing them. But player choices dont equal the world, and it quite frankly doesnt matter what another person chooses to play as
Arcane damage is only an in game classification mechanic for its type. Balance druid magic would be more like celestial/stars magic or even elune related like priestess of the moon the original starfall users on warcraft did and they despised arcane magic for most of their history post war of the ancients.
Where exactly do they use nature magic in the world outside Botanica, which is pretty much them twisting nature to their whims with arcane magic in a naaru spaceship where they were using it to divert mana from the whole region (again with arcane magic) ?
The runes and magical defenses in Quel’thalas were also mostly arcane magic.
They as all elves have a connection to nature and prefer to live closer to natural places, but it doesn’t mean they dont think druidism as something primitive and bellow their trusted arcane.
Again, blizz will almost guaranteed unlock all class/race combos eventualy, but it doesn’t mean its lore justification will make sense…
But hopefully so. Honestly draenei druids being a sensical thing struck me when I made a new one that I finally kept, and was doing the furbolg quest on Azuremyst Isle. That + just their close friendship with the Kaldorei - enough for them to try to help them settle new villages on their ancestral lands - made the idea fit together well, honestly.
True, they don’t need them. But the precedence is already there and Blizzard seems to agree since that is the exact reason why they said classes like Paladin and Druid will take longer to implement for more races.
Tauren, Trolls, and Orcs all used the same totem model until the ICC patch (3.3.0).
I’ve wanted draenei rogues and druids for as long as I can remember, and now that we have the former, I’m eyeing the prospect of draenei druids in the near future. They’ve had three home planets, or four if you count Draenor and Outland separately, so there are a lot of potential forms to choose from, but they definitely need to have a Cat Form based on the panthara from Argus. Travel Form should be a talbuk, yes, but preferably both the ones from Draenor (long horns) and the ones from Argus (short horns, covered in plates).
