No, there is a difference between the members of the x, y, z, etc societies so it’s not “everyone”
ETA: to “gotcha” proof you’re talking about within one society, I said everyone, i.e., all.
You’re not making sense but whatevs. I think you’re fighting a losing battle.
Quel’thelas. Their entire forest was enchanted to be a perpetual season. The Farstriders are also heavily tied to nature.
They used nature magic, at least in part to maintain the enchantment, and to maintain the runestones that held their city together.
As for Star magic potentially not being Arcane. We do some Blood Elves delving into Astral studies in Outland while combing through Draenei devices.
Also, Blizzard has been developing so many new magic forms. That we might get something seperate for Star based spells. But I’m not entirely sure as even Star stuff in Arcane’s tree is the same animation style.
the botantists kel’thas brought with him were some of them who had been with him when he was one of the leaders of Dalaran pre third war. the high elves or as they were known before the exile highborne were around in kalimdor with the other elves for a few thousand years after the sundering during the time they had nordrassil and druidism. remember the reason they left wasnt because they were against druidism it was the ban of magic.
As far as i know that was arcane magic used keep the city in a specific season in an unnatural way.
It would be against the teachings of druidism to do so, as they would be going against the natural order just to keep the city in a way they liked (Literally using magic to go against nature and stopping the flow of the seasons).
I’d really like for you to show any mention of it being nature magic or related to druidism that is not considered very old manual lore that was retconned a long time ago.
Not really, high elfs are not immortal as night elfs were with nordrassil’s blessing, so their life span wasn’t that long in comparison, so none of the original elfs that migrated from Kalimdor would have been alive.
Anasterian who was Kael’thas father (and the last king that fell with arthas invasion and was already considered of old age) was Dath’remar great-grandson, so, its really unlikely that some druid of old was live in theyr arcane centric society keeping its traditions alive.
They did considered druidism as an inferior magic in comparison to the arcane and forfeited their old faith for elune and the moon to a sun centric faith, which lead to them stopping workshiping wild gods that are also heavly tied with druidism.
Major proof of that imo is that they haven’t retorted to any form of life magic/druidism to help clear the dead scar in their city as we know it is effective in reverting the scourge corruption as the cenarion circle ongoing work in the plaguelands proved.
thing is the high elves didnt die of old age, nor do blood elves. acording to the elf Lorash Sunbeam who died fighting malfurion his mother was one of many elves who were alive before the sundering and the exile, what killed her was the scourge during the 3rd war. he mentioned this in the short story a good war in the short story page of the main world of warcraft page he is in part 2 and 3 of the short story.
oh and btw he is in game he is one of the many undead blood elves you see in the recent forsaken heritage armor hes in the end of the questline among many other named npc’s the fact is the lore about anasterian being old even by high elf standards was retconned and is no longer cannon as it is apart of one of the many lore sources declared non cannon when they made the chronicles. as frustrating as that series is and the new lore is the fact is high elves stop physically aging at a certin point.
They still die of old age, otherwise the the bronze blessing on nordrassil to make the night elfs immortal would have been for nothing.
I haven’t found anything in chronicles that mention them stopping the aging process at any point, could you point me out where exactly does it imply that ? Im genuinely curious
I did though found the mentions to the runestones and on Chronicles volume 1 it says that Dath’remar sent his most powerfull ‘‘Arcanists’’ to find a solution to the magic attracting the legion problem. And their solution was to ‘‘build a series of monolithic Runestones around Quel’thalas borders’’.
Volume 2 mentions it again when the horde attacks and Gul’dan uses one of them to create his Ogre Magi (Again an arcane caster).
At no point it mentions nature or druidic magic.
