The exact reason blizzard doesn’t feel the need to improve is cause players like you are ok with this. In original WOTLK at least things felt meaningful you had to actually unlock DK now they just hand it to you along with one of the best mounts in the game for retail

It is just odd. Don’t most folks have a “hero class” alt, just to get an alt at or near cap easily?
I feel like everyone back in WoLTK had a DK (main or alt). MoP’s monks weren’t as popular because you had to start from scratch.
TL;DR … not sure we needed a promo to incentivize folks making a DK. I think it would’ve happened either way.
And in pvp they grip everything.

Retailers looking for just the mount…avoid the mega’s. You will see the nice queue of 10K+. Not hyperbole.
Mega would be faerlina, benediction, grobb… basically, if it says full it’s not lying.
Go to a “dead” server. in just like that. PVE advised.
It’s moreso about the mount in my opinion. They release one of the best mounts ever but just give it on a silver platter the icing on the cake is the class is absolutely BROKEN in classic which I actively play.

You need to have a 55 or higher toon to make one.
Never started the old game so.
Other than on Classic I got to 33 on my Priest.
What’s the thoughts on making some other toon to 55 to start one?

Not even a joke at this point.
Only upside is many paladins are boosties. So they die real easy. Some pop that bubble. they get that bit.
So…you kite them till it runs out. Then you send them to the light they seek. Express delivery. I enjoy it now as after this AV weekend is done many will be brutal fit in some way. So for now…Paladins are fun targets.
Seems like a fun way to get people from retail to try it! I saw the mount earlier, looks super nice.

Correct. It is basically a promo for you to try classic.
They want you hooked on either classic or retail. It doesn’t matter to them, it is the same $15 a month sub.
So think of it just like the hearthstone mount, or hots mount - the reward is still for retail.
I’m not clear on whether or not this is another one of those FOMO mounts, or if it is there for whenever you want to get around to it.

The one silver lining…
So should only take a few hours to earn. The 55 restriction only exists on “fresh start” servers. As long as you avoid those, you can go to any “dead” server login without a queue and do the intro quest.
It is actually a really good starter experience if you haven’t done it. Sort of like the DH starter experience (it gets old really quick though if you need to do it more than once … long story).
What I don’t know is how to tell those “fresh start” servers apart from a “normal” server.
