What if we had an event like The Gates of Ahn’Qiraj where we the players can collect stuff for its rebuilding? Maybe we get the old crafts men who built stormwind but we pay them this time?

We opened the gates of AQ because we wanted the treasures C’Thun was hoarding.
If we rebuild Dalaran can we then raid it for its treasures?

Considering the fact that that it was built, owned, and levitated by the mages of the Kirin Tor, I think they probably know a lot about it. I mean, how are you going to rebuild and raise it into the sky again?
Or are you just suggesting we just build a new city in the Old Dalaran crater and just leave it there? Why?

There isn’t A Dalaran anymore, there’s a bunch of decentralized places where Archmages hang out and study. That’s the new idea, don’t give anybody a single point of attack. Can’t blow up the City of Mages if there isn’t a City of Mages…
Note: I don’t think that’s a particularly good idea, but it is an idea.

The Kirin’tor have decided not to have a centralized city, so, Dalaran won’t be a place anymore.
Dalaran was blow’d up. 
Khadgar said in the questing that they weren’t going to rebuild Dalaran. He also said that the Kirin Tor would no longer try to save the world.
I did the mage quest on the isle just yesterday and it would seem they are trying to gather their strengths and are still undecided as to whether or not they want to rebuild. I personally speculate that they will rebuild however it will be back in its original location and not floating in the sky somewhere. I feel like once that’s achieved and this expansion has passed. They need to remove the previous versions.
Options are either rebuild or pay the fines to the Dornogal Beaches and Recreation department for littering.
That’s never going to happen. The zones of the various expansions exist within their own time. That’s how we can have two Dalarans - they’re the same city, just in different points of time. That’s why Zidormi pops up in zones that have different timelines in them - so you can switch between them.
Man, could you imagine trying to play WotLK or Legion content without having access to Dalaran? What a terrible idea…
Have the Gnomes and Goblin Engineers figure out how to make a City Fly if you don’t want to seek help from Mages.
