and when you have such strong motifs, it sells itself. good advertisement for the game overall.
if we could get blizzard to add a couple new classes, some of the anxiety over belfs having too many class options, would be relieved. for example, faery magic as a class and necromancy as a class. theyâd also make nice new specs for druids and locks, but if they could be fashioned into full blown classes, thatâd help spread the love. also tinkerers as a class.
and demon hunters for everyone. tauren and gnome demon hunter, i mean, honestly, that is straight up classic wow irreverence, tongue in cheek style.
And yet covet them for the Void elves? Funny that it only seems interesting on the elves for your faction, but dull for ours? interesting.
Yes, compiling a list that seems to suspiciously favor a certain thematic. Itâs just amusing that you have such an open mind to possible requests that involve light themes for Void elves, (despite how irrational that would be)
but then act as some staunch resistance against equally reasonable requests like Farstrider tattoos, so much so that you would purposely enter a Blood elf request thread and say âNo me first!â
I have no doubt that there are people who want them, but claiming that âelegantâ or âprettyâ themes are not also highly sought after, and requested, is just plain out false.
If the idea is to embrace all these requests, and themes, I would see little reason for you to openly mock other players requests, or suggest that theyâre not satisfactory, especially if you donât actually play that race yourself.
But you did, you attacked a player who merely suggested the idea because Lady Liadrin was depicted with gold eyes, and you kept telling them they were wrong, and then ended the conversation with something along the lines of âYouâre fel tainted, deal with it!â
Imagine that, I go searching for how the players reacted to the gold eyes customization, and whoâs there arguing up and down that itâs fanfiction, and never gonna happen? You. Not surprised in the least.
Oh, I have no doubt you would be in favor of any cause that involved corrupting the Blood elves hun.
The face I make is because you honestly think anyone buys this.
Yeah, the difference is they donât only want dark themes for Blood elves, they want plenty of other themes that seem to never find a place on any of your lists. Iâm curious, have you ever added braids to one of your belf lists?
I will be impressed if you show me an instance where you supported light rune customization for Blood elves.
Thereâs also no such thing as goth elves, and yet that is more rational, and believable than tattoos? Something that could easily be added and rationalized by the players? You see where your open mind for new customizations seem to suddenly close when it comes to themes you want for your elves?
And you canât see the amount of liberty youâd be taking with the lore to make that happen? But Farstrider Tattoos are the no-go zone? Now I could be wrong, but it sounds like this is the result of some heavy bias.
Then you havenât.
It could easily be a feature exclusive to certain hairstyles. Or just in the form of new hairstyles.
Gosh, the irony.
Nothing we got is pretty, in fact it was all rather lazy and tacky. If anything it should be like the Night elveâs last patch, where it includes both themes. Scars, braids, tattoos, runes, not this idea that âprettyâ themes have had their run in the form of 3 hairstyles, 1 of which is a C&P of a maleâs hairstyle, and the other canât be used if youâre not wearing the right shade of gold or green.
Precisely. Despite all the vitriol, it worked out for the best, the Alliance got one step closer to their High Elf fantasy while the Horde got their blue eyes for Blood Elves.
Thatâs not to say that neither Blood Elves or Void Elves donât need more options, but adding the two aforementioned options was a step in the right direction and I no longer feel the need to jump down someones throat for disagreeing with me, even though I did on occasion in the past.
Iâm also not trying to talk down to anyone either, Iâm just trying to share my personal perspective.
But all in all Ranger tattoos are like at the top of virtually everyones list it would seem, aside from Drede, so Iâm fairly confident that said option will likely be heavily considered if not implemented outright.
O_o uwotmate???
Which is a fair point. I mainly suggest it to flesh out and diversify the hypothetical option for Fel Blood Elf style wings, as just the FB wings would be 1-3 options at best otherwise, but I agree that it may seem busy with everything else I suggested.
This is also another great point and is admittedly much more likely than my suggestion.
I would also love to see more cosmetic options like this in the back slot as the majority of the cloaks are generally the same concept, which is quite frankly quite stale and boring. Iâd love for them to provide just Void/Phoenix wings as a back option without the cape.
This is ultimately how I feel as well, but Blood Elf Druids, Night Elf Paladins and Void Elf Shamans are at the top of my list, so at the very least, Iâd like those classes in that order.
i want access to leather armor types without having to be a rogue to get it. and currently, that means druids. velf druids are hard to support, even harder than belf druids, cause velfs are a bit on the spooky side and the last thing i think of when i think druid, is spooky. velfs may need their own redemption option or they will be frozen out of most classes that arent spooky also
If this ever happens, (which I highly doubt) I really hope itâs not true druidism, but rather their ability to bend nature with the power of the arcane in the same way High Botanist Freywinn does.
For some reason I really enjoy the idea of the mages interesting themselves in nature, using their magic acuity to weave Arcane and Nature magic together to attain the same results of genuine druids.
Making Druid stuff different for every race is something I also hope for. I like when Blizzard gets creative.
Wings on character customization? I donât if Iâd like to see that, tbh. Really over the top and flashy stuff kind of feels cheap and a little odd to me.
Indeed, I would love to see them more as Botanists myself as it would provide a new type pf Druid fantasy. Thereâs also a Botanist in the Nighthold amongst the Nightborne so thereâs at least more than just Freywinn. Thereâs also the Arcanâdor which demonstrates Mages taking interest in Nature with results. This all being said though Nightborne seem to have more prevalence and I personally would welcome them receiving Druids just as well, especially since they are lacking in both classes and diversity.
they are rather small wings compared to demon hunter wings. and it doesnt need to be the full spread, just the ones that sprout from between the shoulder blades and go backwards. they only open up to each side while casting. i didst study them. hehe
I am hoping at the July 9th reveal, we get some class race combos added.
nightborne druids with faldorei as their boomkin form.
Iâm not gonna stop anyone from asking for it, but Iâd personally rather it didnât happen. How would an ordinary being live with a pair of wings on their back? You couldnât really go to sleep normally anymore, sit on chairs, etc. Still, if you or anyone else want them, obviously keep asking for it to happen.
well the story goes, thereâs some mad scientist in the darkmoon island event, who is creating felblood elves. these would rejoin their blood elven kin and add their unique features as customization options.
every race in the game is presumably gettting race adjacent customizations. for belfs, that means either sanâlayn, dark rangers, or felblood elves, as far as i know.
I see the actual wings as a thing for Felbloods, who arenât really going to be comfortable in any regard.
The energy ones I suggested I figured would be more of an aura, comprised of energy, though Isveria had a great suggestion of making it a transmog/appearance instead, which Iâd also gladly accept.
Goodness, I hope so, this would be amazing and would make the expansion for me tbh.
Honestly, itâs a really interesting theme to add to Blood elves, especially given all the possibilities for their different forms. I often imagine their treeform to have runes etched along itâs branches, and the ends of itâs leaves to glow with arcane magic. The cat form would obviously be a Springpaw Lynx.
Who knows, maybe it will happen sometime.
What are you even talking about?
Both those where potential Alliance things and I never suggested Light Themes for Void Elves.
Again⊠I never suggested a Light Theme for Void ElvesâŠ
There is literally no such thing as âFarstrider Tattoosâ
I didnât.
I just have a problem that it is the ONLY thing for Blood Elves.
No I didnât.
I said that according to the lore on orcs it takes generations for fel taint to change.
That was all we had to go on at the time and we had no idea it was going to be a specific thing for Light Users lorewise.
It was also datamined at the same time as the Bronze Dragons and only appeared on two faces. It was looking to either be for them or an NPC option until Blizzard Clarified that it was specifically a Light User thing.
I never said âyouâre fel tainted, and thatâs never gonna change!â I said according to the established lore at the time it would take generations.
People have the options to play Dark Rangers/Sanâlayn/Felblood IS NOT CORRUPTING BLOOD ELVES!
Itâs ridiculous to think otherwise.
Just Eyeroll. Thatâs it.
Scars. Runes. Currently removed Fellblood.
I donât think Lightwings/Tendrils/Horns will ever happen.
I do not Think Allerias Tattoos will be a thing on Blood Elves.
Are there any other things Iâm missing?
Yes.
Currently a toss up for that or fades as the Blood Elf âVinesâ.
âSame as eye colorsâ means
Green/Gold/Blue/Red/Faded = Fel/Light/Arcane/Death/No Glow.
You missed it because Iâm including more than just one theme in the set.
Dark Rangers, Sanâlayn, Death Knights, Demon HuntersâŠ
And I was just suggestion âGothâ jewelry options like chokers/nose & eyebrow rings.
You really, really, really, need to stop freaking out at the word goth in quotation marks.
And people should have to options to make their elves goth FYI.
Those specific ones, yes.
My elves are currently just Blood Elves.
Though I am doing some deleting since Iâm too cheap to name change and have several level tokens saved. Switching my hunter to a VE and giving his name to my Blood Mage I plan to level through legion. And I want a NE Demon Hunter but only after the new stuff.
Keep in mind that Blizzard decided on High Elves through Void Elves and I already had several years of ideas of deferentation from Blood Elves to add to them.
Same with Sanâlayn.
The Blood Elf suggestions list is actually my bigger list thoughâŠ
Because they are Alleria Tattoos. Not Farstrider Tattoos.
That is not a theme of the Farstriders at all.
They where inspired from the old WC2 look for Alleria but have no relation to the Blood Elves.
Runs on the other hand are all over the place so Iâm focusing on that for them since they can glow every magic color potentially.
And we canât forget that they ONLY exist as a feature of Alleria, the Void Elf racial leader.
And?
Iâm also trying to work them in as the Blood Elf vines but I am also working on color fades as that option.
Well I was TRYING to make it something bigger to make up for the Blood Elves lack of Vines/Flowers but thats looking like a bust now.
I would file jewelry and haircuts under the âPrettyâ category.
So for itâs the ONLY thing theyâve done.
Scars/Runes/Damaged Ears are desperately NEEDED but they arenât there. Likely because they arenât considered âprettyâ.
Thatâs my issue. That they are only doing that and ignoring the âGrittyâ side of things because Blood Elves are the âPrettyâ elves and get no depth.
Sorry but I donât see them adding anything more complicated like that.
A lot of work and itâs kinda out of nowhere.
And they weird me out to put it politely.
That would actually be so awesome. Iâd love to see something like this.
Indeed, their flight form could be a Dragonhawk, and their Moonkin perhaps being Phoenix related, although the Phoenix would be closer to being a Mage/Shaman thing as a Phoenix itself is an elemental, though Balance draws on both the Sun and the Moon, so Blood Elves embracing the Solar part of nature magic would create a lovely dichotomy with the more Lunar inclined Night Elves.
