Void is change and possibility. Not chaos.
ever see the double slit experiment? all possibilities are existing in a quantum soup until acted upon by sentience recording data. in the presence of a recording device, it solidifies into reality with a specified path. living things with data recording and storage, can achieve this. that means, all possibilities solidifies to a singular reality with the potential to have different effects. otherwise, we’d self annihilate from lack of cohesion. we’d disintegrate back into quantum soup.
tbh mate, I don’t think she cares. She’s got her headcanon and she’s sticking with it.
whatcha mean?
Mmmm, I like this theory. We do have a quest in WoW that says:
Creatures of the void are naturally chaotic.

I linked it!
Uh…
Soup.
You’ve decided that the Void represents chaos and you won’t be convinced otherwise. Even when we have stuff like the cosmology chart outright stating that fel is the energy of chaos.

so what happens when they are no longer kept in check by the light? does that mean the light has converted to void? thats my theory.
They are a necessary part of the universe, but they must be kept in check by the [Light]
No idea!
Here’s another extract from Wowpedia about the Void being chaotic, though there’s no source cited.
Warlocks peer into the Void without hesitation, leveraging the chaos they glimpse within to devastating ends in battle.

it seems odd that the fel would be an enemy of the void, since it was the void lords that created the burning legion, deliberately, not by accident. they corrupted sargeras who then created the burning legion. seems they are in cahoots
Yeah so I really suggest you read some actual lore on this because it’s a matter of canon that the Burning Legion exists and was created as part of Sargeras’s campaign to defeat the Void Lords permanently by destroying all life.
The Burning Legion exists to destroy the Void.
Here’s the Wowpedia page about Chaos energy.
It seems as though Blizzard (for a change) simply messed up with the word “chaos” and used it as a misnomer several times to refer to the Void, although the official stance today is that chaos energy is only Fel.
Setesh’s chaos abilities are related to the Void and shadow rather than fel. The Dungeon Journal describes his abilities as containing void energy. During the encounter, Setesh summons Chaos Portals that spawn void creatures. This contradicts Blizzard’s later stance that fel is chaos. Given the titans’ vulnerability to fel, it seems unlikely that they would employ it on a planetary scale in the Forge of Origination. Setesh’s abilities may merely be “chaos” in name.

oh now i’m really confused.
eek lol
okay so let’s roll this back a moment. the void lords deliberately corrupt sargeras who then creates the burning legion. to kill the void lords who he thinks are trying to eradicate all life, he has his burning legion eradicate all life instead, as if the whole thing was his own idea.
No, Sargeras isn’t corrupted by the Void Lords, he is touched by fel and not void energies. Sargeras came to understand the threat posed by the Void Lords and betrays the Titans to wipe out all life in the universe, thereby preventing the Void Lords from growing in power.
It’s his view that a universe scoured of life is a superior option to a universe destroyed by the Void Lords.
which makes no sense in light of this:
While the Pantheon was aware of the Void’s existence, they had no knowledge of the void lords or their Old God servants. Instead, they were preoccupied with another threat: demons https://wow.gamepedia.com/Demon
, chaotic spawn of the Twisting Nether https://wow.gamepedia.com/Twisting_Nether
. As the Pantheon’s greatest warrior, Sargeras https://wow.gamepedia.com/Sargeras
, hunted the vile creatures wherever he could find them, he soon learned that some demons had learned to wield Void energies
Hyper, we’re talking about Blizzard here. They love retcons, sadly.
