Order and Chaos is the axis of Arcane and Fel.
just substitute light and void for arcane and fel. the light and arcane are both existing simultaneously in the sunwell. the light doesnt destroy arcane, but it does destroy fel. that is not to say the light couldnt destroy arcane, just that they both seem to be in agreement, with light having the upperhand in the partnership. which of course, in this scenario, is the problem. the light cant share the top position of power.
the void shares to the point where it all devolves into nobody having anything. heat death of the universe. chaos.
Yes and we’ve also seen extremely volatile reactions between fel and void.
Void, Light, Fel and Arcane are not interchangeable. We’ve seen combinations where they can be in balance, but that doesn’t mean that Fel and Arcane share their properties with Light and Void.
So does the Light. If those two go out of balance either way it’s the end of reality. That’s canon.
really? so void is the dictator of chaos. it insists on chaos, in other words, which is its own form of order if ya think about it.
No Fel is the element of Chaos. It literally says Chaos on the cosmology charge.
That’s why we have spells like Chaos Bolt.
so then what is void if not chaos. that suggests n’zoth is fel not void
If N’zoth was a being of Chaos he wouldn’t be constantly trying to set up a rigid hierarchical empire with himself as absolute ruler.
I think Void is “flexibility” and Light is “rigidity”.
Light is “there is only one valid option”
Void is “every option is valid”
like i said, void would be ruling with chaos, like a dictator.
when i did my deep dive to find out who was responsible for all the bad things, it lead all the way back to dark naaru.
Authoritarian dictatorships are extremely rigid and orderly. That’s like… the whole point.
same concept as order and chaos. the best choice being a balance between the two, which takes actual effort to achieve and maintain. sadly, the resulting comfort afforded by the balance, leads to corruption, which pushes the pendulum to one extreme side or the other. usually as a response. too controlling - swing to chaos. too chaotic - swing to order.
I don’t agree that its the same concept.
Void’s “every option is valid” doesn’t necessarily mean chaos. Among “every option” order is just as valid as chaos.
Also to go back to your heat death of the universe comparison to the void, would that not be the most orderly end of all things? An even distribution of particles and no dynamic activity anywhere in all space and time sounds more like order than chaos to me.
That’s not a Void thing either. The Void is not in favour of free will or choice, they want to enslave mortals and absorb them into itself.
I’m not certain that’s true.
The Old Gods may want that… and the Void Lords may want that… but the Void itself, I’m not so sure represents that.
In an case it certainly shows that we could stand to learn more about the nature of the Light and the Void.
think of it like a math problem. it provides the means to erase itself from existence. because every option also includes the option where the void doesnt have control. poof, self annihilation.
The Void as an element is extremely corrupting and bends both living creatures and other elements to its will.
If you spend enough time around Void energies there’s no way around the fact that you’re most likely going to end up under its thrall.
I’ll readily admit that I’m not a huge WoW Lore guru, but do we have lore evidence of that? I don’t mean Old God’s or Void Lords corrupting people, but just Void “as an element”, being purposefully corruptive.
Here’s where I’m coming from with this, imagine being shown all possibilities as a plain old normal human being. It would undoubtedly drive us mad because we just can’t handle that kind of information overload. Did the void “corrupt” us by intent? Or were we simply “too small” to handle all that it can show us.
I’m still unsure what “the whispers” actually are. Are they the Old Gods? Are they the Void Lords? Are they snippets of potential possibilities?
The Shadow Spec for Priests is literally all about corrupting stuff.
Purposefully doesn’t really matter, in fact I would argue it’s less important. The fact that Void corruption can spread unwillingly is far more telling. Just look at what happened when Alleria almost destroyed the Sunwell.
Hell, we as players are corrupted by the Void this patch.
And the Void Lords are stated in Chronicle to be inexorably linked to the Void. This isn’t like the Legion where they just showed up later on, they are an important part of the element as a whole.
sooo anyway. hehehe. the light may end up being an albatross for the alliance. if it goes full light, balance of the force goes wheee out the window, so to speak.
