This is the expansion of customization options. Why are you being so contrary over this? It’s something players want and there’s no reason not to give it to them.

Not everything players want is good for the game. I said this when arguing about High Elves and I’ll say it about everyone wanting Dark Rangers as a cross-class skin option, too.

Class uniqueness is something they’re trying to bring back. I’d rather Dark Ranger aesthetic be saved for some kind of Class Skin system.

This is meant for the ones she created after Cata. She has the ability through the valkyr to force the undead they raise to serve, but she let them have free will as freewill (and not being turned into a bomb) is the most important thing to the Forsaken.

But it’s not a Dark Ranger skin. It’s a dead thalassian skin that is used for more than just dark ranger NPC’s. There’s no logical reason to deny players access to it. There is also no playable Dark Ranger class in WoW.

i always wondered, if so many high elves died to the scourge, how come there’s only 1 undead high elf walking around. at the time, the only one i saw was in dalaran. it makes sense, to be honest, that blood elves would embrace their undead kin, if they’re gonna embrace undead humans

I think we’re more likely to see it for everyone given their explicit comments on player agency. And the Void many argue a class specific theme taken to include a whole race wasn’t limited to a class. Neither was the new customization options. Or Wildhammers, or the troll options.

I’m still of the opinion it’ll come for all classes.

Really, Forsaken would encompass a multitude of humans, elves, dwarves, etc, but for gameplay it probably didn’t sit right to give one race the ability to also be every race, extra design work aside.

I would prefer customization at this point. But previously wanted a hero class. I think if ever the time for the hero class, it would have been BFA, or Shadowlands.

If Sand Trolls, Wildhammer Dwarves and High Elves can be a thing, then universal Dark Ranger stuff is perfectly fine.

Especially when the current customization pool is lackluster tier.

I suspect it’s just the work schedule.

Everything you are seeing for core races being added recently may well have been in the pipeline for months and months.

The Void Elf options apparently were decided only a few weeks ago.

I don’t know if Dark Ranger is deep enough to be its own full class.

Demon Hunter wasn’t, and they could barely manage to make a two-spec class of it even after inventing a tank spec focused on a completely new set of demon skills that didn’t exist in their lore prior.

I think a class skin over or a 4th spec for Hunters would be the best way to implement that kind of fantasy.

Dark Ranger shouldn’t be a class anyway, the last thing we need is another elf only class when they’re already so dominant in population. Next xpac is already going to be bad enough for visual diversity without even more incentive to play an elf.

Definitely prefer the undead Forsaken Elf be customization rather than a hero class.

Though I do want glyphs for hunter MM that show a more dark Ranger class theme.

I am thinking about making one myself. Obviously she wouldn’t be a Sylvanas loyalist, but she will definitely be a hunter. I see her mourning her loss of connection with the natural world, but embracing animals that have been scourged.
