I posted a mockup of this I made earlier. Here’s a repost in case you missed it.

Well, thing is, with everyone, people all want different things, and there is limits to what Blizzard can do. Because things do have to make sense lorewise as well to tie into the customisations, but yeah, for me, I I’m happy with what we have gotten so far, but I am hoping there will be more in the future.
After all, can’t lose hope.
Well in terms of a visual theme you are.
I agree I’d like lore confirmation on the Wayfarers and that is my biggest thing I would like to see in the immediate future. But even without it one can RP better than before, and I suppose confirmation on the Wayfarers isn’t exactly needed one can assume as much and play fine. But it is a personal thing to want the lore on my end.
But as far as “not getting what you wanted” maybe not everything? But a second visual theme is a lot more than what BEs are getting, an eye color and some jewelry. Would you give the skin tones back if you could in exchange for an eye color and some jewelry? Probably not.
yeah i keep wondering why we havent seen anything new for belfs beyond the initial jewelry, skin, eyecolors, hairstyles and hair colors that pretty much everyone with human skin colors is getting. ear size is only unique thing thus far and night elves got that too
like we saw african and asian themes added to humans as their second and third themes. trolls got sand/forest/etc troll themes. dwarves got wildhammers and thats it so far. gnomes dont have a second theme yet. neither do taurens. etc
i think, dont quote me, but i think they just havent finished adding them yet.
I sincerely hope you are right hyper and as always I admire your outlook and optimism
i know how badly belfs want dark ranger/tats/sanlayn stuff, and i would be sad for you if you didnt get it.
Prefacing this by reiterating that I think Dark Ranger themes should be a total gimme for Belves and it’s going to be a massive missed opportunity if they aren’t added, I think the DR fans should absolutely be catered to on that front.
But as someone who has RP’d a Half Elf since BC and desperately wants that ear length option to also wind up on Void Elves by release, it feels pretty rotten to see Half Elf options continually getting dismissed as “not real theming”.
Like man y’all got handed something I’ve been wanting in game for years and it almost feels like nobody realizes it’s happening.
I get that it’s not a theme you want or care about, and I’m never gonna stop supporting the call for more things being added for Belves in every flavor players want, but can we stop pretending it didn’t get added?
Blood elves got additional eye colors. I don’t think regular skin tones are the entirety of a new theme for void elves, but eye color doesn’t create a new theme for blood elves either.
naga would be a cool nelf second theme
faldorei for a second nightborne theme
gnomest needs her gnome demon hunter. haha. seriously, she worked hard on that mog she had of a gnome rogue that looked like a dh.
eh, illidan’s gotta come back and train everybody to be dh, i guess.
To anyone seriously touting Dark Ranger customization for Blood Elves:
Why, aside from using the Thalassian Elf model, do you think these would be appropriate to take from their clearly Forsaken origins as an extra option?
I feel like many people support Dark Ranger customization only on a hypothetical balancing scale to further additional Void Elf requests, as if the two are somehow equal.
A lot of people who are either neutral or whatever to high elves want dark rangers honestly.
I guess I’m really curious why they feel what is really a very specific class should be baked into generic customization.
Imagine prior to Demon Hunters asking for horns or blindfolds because they feel a hero class’ customization should be available to everyone in the race.
It’s just as silly.
sylvannas went bye bye?
i dunno if people have thought thru the implications of the dark lady’s absence in the forsaken ranks. she’s only reason forsaken were no longer scourge and why they wouldnt die out from lack of the ability to procreate.
Sylvanas had nothing to do with Scourge becoming “Forsaken” aside from giving them that edgy title.
Illidan is actually the reason for them breaking from the Lich King’s control.
really? i did not know this. i had always been told that the forsaken were given free will by sylvannas.
It plays out in WC3: TFT. Illidan uses the Eye of Sargeras as a magical focus to attempt to break Icecrown Citadel apart. Malfurion stops him before he can finish the spell (as it was implied more than just Icecrown would be destroyed), but it did enough damage to crack the Lich King’s prison and weaken his hold on many Scourge, Sylvanas among them.
This is when Arthas is summoned back, so he can merge with the Ner’zhul and stop the “leaking” of his powers from Illidan’s attack.
I think customization for it is more likely than a hero class, especially since there isn’t a huge difference between the abilities. I doubt there would be complaints though, if they went the hero class route.
Don’t forget player agency and in game citation of Dark Ranger Velonara listing Sin’dorei first among who she considers her kin.
