And Dark Ranger fans of Undead Elves have been around just as long I don’t correlate this point to anything?
You’re saying you’d be fine with Dark Ranger themes but you don’t see any reason to advocate for them because…?
People can now be an ethnicity that according to Blizzard on humans they always felt people were diverse. So applying this to BEs this is what they’ve always seen the human skin toned races. Not to mention it trivializes people’s ethnicity if you think when it’s introduced it’s “a new theme”. It’s not a new theme it’s what should have always been there for people.
So do you just want eye colors for Void Elves? Why do you get our skin tone diversity? Or if you only got blue eyes would you not be satisfied and want oh… a second theme? Probably still a HE AR?
But what if you saw Blood Elves getting Dark Ranger customization, would you not ask why VEs didn’t have the wayfarer appearance?
Because This is clearly blizzard’s way of trying to solve the High Elf request that has been occupying the forums for the last couple of years. They missed their opportunity to do it by making Velves High Elves from the start so this is the avenue they’re taking them.
I don’t have a problem with any other race Horde or Alliance getting something like this. But it’s quite clear why Void Elves in particular are getting these customizations. It’s an extremely popular request and Blizzard knows that. Why else would they have announced this the way they did?
Those two requests don’t really compare. It was not “red eyes for blood elves” discussions that were popping up every other week for the last two years.
Exhibit A on why cattering to adults acting like a colicky baby would be a very BAD idea (and reason why you guys apparenlty will only get the looks to headcanon to your heart´s desire while NOT getting the cake to eat it too).

You´re exhibit A on why it´s bad to keep the superficial image front and center regarding the Belf race. Cause people ignoring the stuff (and with NO will to imporve on their lack of knowledge) will totally eat the negative BS as holy gospel.
Void Elves don’t get to be special and entitled and then when people call it out the HE community gets touchy. It’s not the core race, and if they add more to it I support it.
But I’m going to continue pointing out Blood Elves lack of second theme to Blizzard, and that Undead Elf fans have an avenue for Dark Ranger customization that should be done because it’s not fair one group gets special treatment and another doesn’t.
It clearly was not their intention, considering that it only came as a way to placate alliance players for giving Blood elves blue eyes. You’re acting like they planned this all out, and that their motivations are obvious when it was obviously done at the last second.
Void Elves also received our brand new skin tone diversity as well, so where is our second theme, this is our theme, where is the second one? Like Void Elves have?

Void Elf players / Pro Helf fans aren’t the ones picking what race gets what customizations. That’s something blizzard does.
oh i’m not that common, so using me as an example is likely unwise. not many players are as old or erm memory challenged, as i am. i dont want to give other players a bad name. i just wanted you to know i dont view belfs as vacuous or vain. more like headstrong, brave and exacting.
Yet I will use my voice to say Blood Elves need more and the AR of Void Elves which will probably be worked on again with ARs shouldn’t take time from Blood Elves.
Something tells me Blizzard isn’t giving us all the Blood Elf skin tones. We’d have something like 24 skin colours if that was the case. I wouldn’t be surprised if we only got 1 shade of white/dark/tan, tbh.
I agree withLannisterian, though. Neither VOid Elf customization options or Blood Elf customization options should be hindered by one another. Blizzard should be spending the time and effort on each race to satisfy the fans of them.
This is what I am saying, especially since it’s seen as Void Elves being worked on twice so Blood Elves have the core race customization period to get our big asks in.
So to me they should receive extra love as the core race, but all I’m really saying is if there was an announcement tomorrow, I’d want it to be on BEs given their core race position and the lackluster customizations so far, Void Elves can have the announcement the day after tomorrow since they are an AR and this was a courtesy customization to make people happy anyways.
Like would you be upset if the next big announcement was for Blood Elves to get tattoos, Dark Ranger themes, and scarring? If you wouldn’t then I think we understand each other. Because after that announcement I won’t see an unequal situation between the two anymore and I think a lot of BE fans who see this unequal situation will feel good about things too. And at that point I wouldn’t care if the next announcement was a huge thing for VEs again.
Why would you want the HE theme and not want Blood Elves to have a win in that department as well with a second theme like Dark Ranger theme? There’s no denying BEs have 1 theme, VEs have 2 that’s my issue. Not that you got a second theme, but Blood Elves didn’t.
I’m betting on that as well. They’ll probably cut the work by giving a good variety but not everything. Wouldn’t be surprised if we get just the 3 skin tones shown in the void elf preview images (that are suspiciously the same tones for males and females).
