New Customization Options for Blood Elves and Void Elves

I also hope they have an eye brow option for the Belves. Looks odd when the brows are so long when the short ears are selected.

Maybe some arcane and sunwell type additions for Tattoos and or magical effects? Farstrider feathers maybe?

No guilt here, and not trying to rub it in, but the Nelves got spoiled, I’d still add more if I could, but I want every other race to feel that way.

I think that’s really unfair. They are working in 23 races (46 genders total). Yes, 3 more hair styles for a certain gender may look like too little, but it’s overall 138 hairstyles being added overall, if not more, by the end of the day.

I hope after the initial pass Blizzard does some hair style swapping between races for variety.

And I’m still supporting Dark Ranger themes. Where is Blood Elves second theme, and why are undead elf fans overlooked but HE fans have been given an avenue through Void Elves.

It will bother me until Blizzard does something about it I have to admit.

That and tattoos that I know people want, and I’ll be feeling pretty happy at that point.

I see it as:

  • Blue eyed (purified or converted blood elves)
  • Dark skins

Both are visuals they didn’t have access before.

I’m all in favor for dark ranger customization, but I don’t think it’s fair to say there’s no new themes for blood elves. Everyone is in awe for the new night elf skins, but they don’t really add any new theme, it’s just darker skin colors.

But Void Elves also have access to these, plus the blue skinned Voidy themes. It’s more distinct than eye colour.

The new skin tone diversity comments from devs as it pertains to humans was that they always felt the humans were diverse and it’s just now reflecting this in game with the new customizations.

Since we have no comments in BEs I think it’s safe to say these additions are felt that way across the board to the races they are being added to. Save for Void Elves who are distinctly until now blue only.

Allowing people to have access to diversity isn’t a new theme that’s them putting what should have always been in for people who play races with a human skin tone pallet.

These are all options people have been asking for, and would be extremely pleased to see, but for some reason the only thing they’ve put forward for Blood elves are jewelry… which even Stiven (the guy datamining for wowhead) was so disappointed by the Blood elf customization that he almost looked angry, and many of us share that disappointment.

In fairness, we likely haven’t seen all of the new options for Blood elves yet, but I do feel like it’s important to let it be known that what we do have, isn’t very satisfying at all, and not a direction we wish to see these options continue in.

The hairstyles would be far more satisfying if they didn’t include lurid hairpieces that serve only to severely restrict a players choice in mogs. (At least Night elves get the option to change the color of the vines in their hair.) One was simply a hairstyle added from the males to the females. And the jewelry looks like some of the most lazy options we’ve seen.

A void elf can’t have gold or green eyes, thought.

Are we forgetting blood elves got the light theme in BfA while no other race but orcs got anything?

If you don’t get the undead options now, I sincerely hope they expand and make sub races at least to make it possible.

Void elves are kind of like worgen imo, having two themes now. I think the whole magical/void empowerment of the velves is what makes it easier to have that two theme, while remaining voided. Had we got high elves instead it would have been mono themed just like the blood elves.

Don’t get me wrong, I support the darkfallen/undead customizations, the more the merrier.

I love how you leave Rommath out of the “importance” count.

Newflash, Liadrin is visible, but just like Aethas, not really important lorewise speaking. Also, she´s awful narrative wise cause she -just like Jaina- had no actual growth arc but she literally regressed to the place she started.

And helfers aren´t totally into the “pure” BS, suuuure dear.

Blue eyes are merely a reflection the Sunwell has arcane energies too. A HUGE lore concept, but hardly a “new” theme regarding the Belves. Arcane dependence is a core aspect of the race, blue eyes as a novel racial theme is a redundant argument.

And Dark skins are being done for ALL AND EVERY race that had the “human esque” skin tones, so again: NO racial theme, more like a “oh this existed since forever A.K.A. already Belf” theme.

I don’t get this “new theme” angle of yours. By that, most races aren’t getting a second theme. WHat theme did undead get? What theme did humans get? Night elves? Tauren?

Why are people looking at void elves and thinking that’s the standard they were robbed of?

Why did Void Elves get a second theme? You seem to understand the importance of it when it’s to your benefit? Void Elves being the AR shouldn’t have two themes and the Blood Elves not receive the long asked for Dark Ranger customization / Undead Elf theme.

Yes, but the Light theme on Blood Elves is only represented in the eyes. it would be nice if they expanded on this a bit more.

Because we kept asking for it for the last 2 (actually 15) years.

Heated, as ever.

Agreed.

With the Void elves getting more options to customize their void corruption, it would be nice if Blood elves had more ways to express their relationship with the light.

Technically Wildhammer along with Sand/Dark Trolls are new themes.

Though yeah, not every race is getting a new theme and some are just getting their current theme extended.

Right now though they have a theme in Dark Rangers/San’layn that’s not being explored like the above listed. (Also Felblood)

Just hope the they do the Alliance High Elves right, Hair and all.
