They should remove faction barriers because it would allow for a wider degree of playability options to players.

Mmm. The Wildhammer request was tiny but they still pushed hard for it. Chris Metzen loves Wildhammer Dwarves but isn’t in a large role in Blizzard right now.
But I think it’s likely that someone on the developer side had more to do with this. I remember when they brought up Wildhammer and Void Elf customizations back in the day that the developer they were talking about talked about how they talked internally and were really excited about Wildhammer Dwarves.
Obviously people in the community asking didn’t hurt. But I think that’s a creative pet project on the developers end.
Sure… and invading a bunch of different cosmologies is a great way for Azeroth to be united… But… WoW is based on that faction split and people have their identities tied to those factions and that’s been a driving force for WoW through the years.

Almost every race got 3 extra hair styles + bald + some old Cataclysm hairstyles that were never available before. Humans got 6 hair styles (3 for asian, 3 for afro)
Almost every race got 3 new hair colors. Humans didn’t get any. Dwarves are the big exception with lots of new hair colors, thought only a few are really different from before.
Blood elves got green, teal, gold and blue eyes, plus blind options, plus some glow variation.
Only a few races got tattoos. Only a few races got scars.
Really, I feel blood elf players are complaining not because they got shafted, but because they got the same as everyone else.
I will support anyone going for a specific request. Want red/orange/purple eyes? Go for it! Want tattoos? Go for it!
But I won’t support complaining for complaint’s sake. This sounds like “the grass is greener on the other side”, rather than “Hey, it would be cool if we got X”.

I mean after all the Tauren Racial Leader is in SW.
That’s because the Dark Ranger request had multiple avenues that people wanted it added in for. Where as people just wanted Wildhammers as a race.
Class, Race, Skin. All options that people wanted to see happen for Dark Rangers at some point, but then those People saw the stuff with Wildhammers and Sand Trolls and then they decided that would be the best route for this desire.
That’s why the thread was made and the request asked. There isn’t really much that one needs to speak on the subject for when all Blizz really has to do is flip the switch of player enabled for those undead skins and eyes.
Calling it tantrums isn’t really a fair assessment, and not helpful to the discussion at hand.
Yes the request got a bit out of hand when people created thread after thread. Some of that happened when threads got flagged. But mostly when kept to a mega thread, things were all in all well.
For some reason this is the hottest topic on the forums, by light years. It’s going to draw some heated emotions, I’d rather it not ever come to that, and sad to say it happened.
I think people got a fair compromise now. Even better if they were able to limit their corruption visuals. We don’t know what’s in store now. Not my desired outcome, I would have rather had the high elves… but I’ve got bigger fish iam searching for now in this game.

That last one seems rather trollish looking.
I wish I could see more pupil with the night elf eyes but other than that they’re great.
Males especially. They look better for some reason I can’t figure out.
