Having blue eyes doesn’t make you a High Elf. Otherwise that blue eyed Blood Elf blacksmith in Pandaria wouldn’t be tagged as a Blood Elf.

People need to realize that when you use the title high elf you’re not actually referring to any group of elves who think a certain way in the same manner you would when referring to the Wildhammer dwarves for instance.

Yes there are groups of High elves who think a certain way, but High elves in general do not act as a coordinated whole, or subscribe to any singular set of beliefs or way of thinking. While Blood elves may not subscribe to the exact same way of thinking as their ancestors (traditional High elves) it’s worth pointing out that neither do modern High elves.

Unless you’re referring to a certain group of High elves, the name “High elf” on it’s own isn’t really reflecting any beliefs or culture.

Doing lovely work, Alamara.

That’s not what the argument over the years has told me.

They should honestly just let the name die as it’s clearly just a relic of the past that causes bickering between people.

It’s ironic that the Blue Eyed Blacksmith in Pandaria, who people argued about as proof that Blood Elves were in fact High Elves, is the proof that Blood Elves aren’t.

Though, the WoW encyclopedia made that very clear back in the day.

But to be fair, there is likely a High Elf mercenary out there if that’s what you’re about.

They should have had the Silver Covenant join the Alliance as an Allied Race. They’re always hanging with the Alliance and are an Alliance reputation.

I think the confusion simply stems from the fact that because they kept the name “High elf” people often confuse them for traditional High elves, when in fact many modern High elven groups have strayed culturally from their ancestors far more than even the Blood elves.

It’s a good thing you’re allowed to ask for that then, instead of stopping others from asking for their own. :man_shrugging:

I don’t think there is any actual confusion on this issue. I think you, Snowsong, may be the only person that isn’t arguing about it disengenuously.

Though, I think you also know a Blood Elf isn’t a High Elf… So… shrugs

It’s a good thing I never said stop asking to anyone too like what was said to me!

I’m simply pointing out to Blizzard that I hope they see the core races should come first as they promised!

And they definitely have, which is why you’ve gotten a mountain of customization options and we’re the first race to be leaked for them.

Oh but nah, I forgot, you don’t like the way some of it looks so you haven’t actually gotten anything.

My god dude lol

There’s like 3 hairstyles. 3 hair colors. Some eye colors no one cares about. Stolen facial hair. Trashy costume jewelry.

We didn’t have the option to choose eye colors until now.

My pen and paper High Elf had purple eyes. Vereesa is supposed to have green eyes. You know, the not glowing fel green type.

Asking for blue eyed High Elves was because the thing that seperated Blood Elves from High Elves in game was eye color. But if you give them eye color options, then it’s obvious there are probably Blue Eyed Blood Elves out there.

If there weren’t eye color options it’d be that same old argument.

Well considering you’re not interested in looking out for BE fans you’ll excuse me if I don’t take your opinion on the state of BE player customizations.

Are you mistaking me for someone else? Because I’ve been quite vocal about liking the jewelry but if you think that is equal to second theme it simply is not.

My opinion is irrelevant and so is yours, you have mathematically gotten more customization than most races thus far, you can claim you’re being treated unfairly all you want, you aren’t :man_shrugging:.

The theme of being normal?

Lol the reaching you have to do to find a reason to cry about unfairness.

Well if it matters so little to you I’m sure there are plenty of BE fans who’d rather you not have it, and yet I don’t see you advocating on turning it away.

Idk I see more reaching on acting like it’s not big deal to have received such a big reveal when no other ARs have yet nor were ARs supposed to be worked on at the same time as core races.

Oh, wow. Look at all these earrings and body jewelry, I’ll never use and that will never be seen.

Soooooo amazing!!!

That’s sarcasm btw.

Well then you see the problem now, don’t you?

When your entire argument is based around Blue-Eyes for years on end, it’s only natural for people to assume that the normal High Elves are those with Blue-Eyes.

You may not think Blue-Eyes doesn’t make a High Elf but to the average players? A High Elf is one with Blonde Hair and Blue-Eyes no matter what you now try to tell them.

So now what do you think will occur when someone sees a Blood Elf with Blues-Eyes and Blonde hair? It’s prolly most likely for them to think it’s a High Elf.

Shame that Blue-Eyes were such an integral part of the request. Now there’s nothing for anyone to say that High Elves aren’t on both sides now.

I’m genuinely asking is he counting the new skin tone diversity that was shared with VEs as part of the cool new things BEs are getting? Because if he is all that shows is VEs have non void and regular Elf themes now and BEs still only have 1. So I’m genuinely not seeing what he’s talking about.

Idk what he’s so worked up about, tbh. He said he didn’t care.
