clicking thalassian would spawn high elf drop down. clicking high elf would spawn blood elf drop down. clicking blood elf would spawn void elf drop down. this, of course is how a website drop down menu works, not necessarily a mmo menu. haha
Seems kinda silly to put High Elf before Blood Elf.
I love that idea, Iâm not sure though how that could be implemented. Like, if you choose a Void Elf would there be some kind of warning telling you that Void Elves are in the opposite faction?
well blood elves are high elves. they just renamed themselves. but yeah you could just put blood elf and then have drop down from that. i was just thinking like a website designer, not a game designer
Seeing as how the new selection screen is already implemented, this whole idea is just a superfluous feep that would take coding time away from other, more useful, features.
I guess a warning could do so, I kinda think they should just ditch factions altogether at this point.
Iâm just speaking purely from a gameplay perspective of Core vs. AR in terms on seniority. Blood Elves should for all intents and purposes have the top of the totem pole in any drop down menu.
Seems kinda silly to make a more confusing character creation screen in general really.
What problem does this solve exactly?
I think it would be fine if subraces were under the races that were playable first. It makes sense. If we get subraces that allow us more freedom with the names our characters display Iâll be happy with that much, I wouldnât insist on them being in a specific order.
As we say in Spain, if they get angry about that then they have two issues to deal with: getting angry and stop getting angry.
(i.e., they can whine all they want, the truth is that Blood Elves or QuelâThalas wonât ever be neutral, at least not as long as WoW maintains factions as they are).
It makes helfers closer to their uwu helf fantasy at the expense of Sinâdorei and Renâdorei.
It serves no other purpose.
The whole Wildhammer, Sand/Dark Troll, High Elf name silliness.
Ugh, thank God, Iâm not alone.
correct. my brain is doing a wiki type menu. so thalassian, a word you wouldnt know unless a lore geek for wow, then high elf, a more obvious concept since all thalassians in wow currently are high elves - like we dont have thalassian half elvesâŠyet. then blood elf cause theyâre the parent race of void elves.
I wouldnât complain if I could select high elf as my name, but itâs not something I feel like fighting about at this point.
Iâm fine with or without a subrace name system, but itâs fun to speculate ideas.
Again only speaking for myself. If BEs get the undead customization I desperately want and support, it wonât bother me one bit Iâm not called something other than BE. So I can only think of one group who is bothered by the lack of official validation and so it seems superfluous to me and really only a thinly veiled idea that advances the interests of one side.
Save for your idea Reno it sort of seemed geared to a factionless screen which is another angle entirely and I can see why itâd be a nice screen idea if they did away with factions.
Unless they still kept the faction specific groups together, like BEs and any group we may get. Then VEs and any group they may get.
Thereâs already a new UI and thereâs no need to reinvent the wheel.
Seems like a pretty significant rework for a fairly minor problem.
No harm in wasting time thinking of stuff.
You never know what ideas, Blizz will or will not take from these threads.
It really is.
Hopefully our Dark Ranger themes. And tattoos for those that want it (I donât fit my characters but I canât but help feel like our customizations for BEs is lacking).
