New Customization Options for Blood Elves and Void Elves

And again, comfirmed by Blizzard, within this very thread, Void Elves are getting normal skin tones and blue eye colours.

The exact same as Alleria, how she still has her normal skin tone and blue eyes.

Except it was. Because you’re talking about the start of her legion story not the end of it. What you brought up was her arc of why she was connected to the void to begin with. After that happened she was sort’ve an outcast within the Alliance. Which is why voidelves were created after. To give her a place, to give her something to lead.

As for that this is totally irrelevant. Sylvanas and Anduin were leaders of the factions and they barely did anything in legion. Expecting Blizzard to activly use all racial leaders in every patch, in every expansion, is insane. But the fact she is LITERALLY A RACIAL LEADER is what keeps her relevant to the story. She’s always in the writers pockets to bring back.

Can’t really say the same for other characters where it’s always a gamble on whether or not we see them again. Such as a lot of popular characters from the class hall stories. Who sorta just vanish and are doing who knows what right now.

And where was the relevance or proof or anything about Void Elves in Legion? Do the MacAree questline again, then tell me where there is any relevance of the Void Elves within that Questline. Even in the Seat of the Triumvirate, there was no relevance about Void Elves, even after she absorbed the Dark Naruu L’ura.

Woah, here is proof that you have not played Legion.

Yeah it’s cool that its confirmed by blizzard now to appease crybabies who wanted to look like a high elf on alliance. But that doesn’t strip away the point there was a reason she was special to begin with. Her connection to the void came from a different event than the one that hit the void elves.

The fact that they are getting new skin tones and eye colors IS NOT UP FOR DEBATE. The original point of the discussion you decided to become a parasite onto is that she was special before this update was announced. That demanding these tones on the basis of “well look at alleria, she’s their leader and has normal skin” misses the point of why her and the other elves are different to begin with.

Which makes it upsetting to anyone that actually cared about the lore and potential of the race is seeing the identity of this subfaction get stripped away to appease a small vocal minority that wanted to play a bloodelf. But play bloodelves on the wrong faction. It feels like a halfassed attempt to shut the whiners up at the expense of the story.

It makes bloodelves feel less special because now all of their options are given to some other race on the other faction. And that “minor race” gets to enjoy additional void themed customization while bloodelves get nothing in return. It makes someone who wants a true high elf feel less special because they can’t be a high elf paladin. And their racials will always be void themed, their stories will be void themed, any towns they make will be void themed, their heritage set is void themed
they’re void elves but they get spraypainted to look like high elves.

If people want to play a “high elf” with blue eyes there were better ways to make it happen. Such as getting rid of the abysmally bad faction divide that is increasingly unpopular among players to the point where everyone is just going to horde. Turns out when people play MMO’s they want to actually play it with their friends and have their friends be whatever race they want. They want to be able to recruit from a big pool of players to progress their guilds. Etc etc etc.

But hey lets just reskin void elves to banaid fix a minor request instead of turning our attention to the real heart of that request. “I want to be a pretty high fantasy elf, but play with my alliance friends”.

Hey Blizzard,
are you ever going to fix the green glow around the eyelids for blood elves that persists with golden eyes and now obviously even with blue eyes?

This to me is the desperate Blizzard trying to make purple blood elves less ridiculous.
All that remains now is to create a lore that will make them less blood elves rejected from the horde in search of a new shark to parasitize, as they have been doing with orcs and trolls and also doing something that makes them less desperate to please the alliance.

Good idea, lets turn to one of the main reasons why Blood Elves are on Horde:

“One reason for the Blood Elves choice was obviously looks. You’d be amazed how many people will not play the Horde based purely on the fact that they’re monstrous. So by giving an attractive race to the Horde, we feel like we’re opening a whole new part of the game to the people who wouldn’t experience that half of the game.”

Yeah, you wanna play, “Oh, alliance players just want a pretty elf,” there you go, there is your reason to why Horde has Blood Elves.

I actually think this is part of a last ditch attempt to try to balance the factions and there will likely be more to come. If it doesn’t work we might finally see cross faction grouping allowed.

It probably won’t work. It will make some people happy but even this thread has plenty of salt to go around.

Giving blood elves to the alliance, with whatever artifice or color they can take out of the thin air, will not repair the balance between the factions.
As always, Blizzard wants to use a band-aid on something amputated and pretend it’s right.
But it’s fun to see Blizzard try to please everyone and fall back on his words after a tragic BfA.

i think its wonderful. i’m so glad they made this decision.

No she’s some teenage boys fantasy. Alleria is a Unicorn they made the poster girl for Velves because they needed her back for nostalgia/another Windrunner in the story. She is not the same as the Ren’dorei because she was not force fed Void and turned purple/blue like the others were. So no she is not the Void Elf fantasy. She is the Unicorn amongst the rest of the herd.

Still can’t be a elf Paladin on the Alliance, so doesn’t change anything for me.

Also just a reminder. Slapping a Belf skin on a void elf does not make you a Helf, it makes you a Velf in Belf skin. All they are doing is pandering to a small part of the overall population who made a lot of noise on the forums (which a large part of the population never comes) and destroying the Void Elf identity.
