Linxy made it clear that this was just the beginning of what would be available to the two races. Given that there’s a blood elf mock up with blue hair, I can see blonde, brown and other colors of hair en route for the void elves too.
I’m pointing out that the statement that you need to be purple to be a Void Elf is untrue, not saying anything about certain options being limited to NPC’s. Alleria was a Void Elf, was referred as such, hence, “blueness” is not an in universe indicative of what means to be a Void Elf.
you may dress like a High Elf but are still a betrayer to Silvermoon.
Thaaaaannkk you Blizzard! Holy Kittens! had to ask my roomate to pinch me just to make sure i wasnt dreaming! Blue Eyes for belves, finally!
Now maybe this will be asking too much…but…can blood elves also get the pink/fuschia/magenta hair color? Pweety pwease! =OwO=
Also, grats on the Alliance for getting their version of high elves as well!
I don’t get why people think voidelves are “lol lets shut these people up”. It was specifically designed as a way to make Alleria relevant. Who was sort’ve a big deal at the end of legion.
The whole point of her story is that she is the opposite of her husband. He’s light, she’s shadow. They can’t even bang anymore without killing each other. Having some shadow elf that just hangs out with the alliance for literally no reason would be dumb. Void elves were created for her, not to appease some babies on the wow forums.
This reskin for voidelves is the “lol lets just reskin void elves to have pink flesh and blue eyes” to appease people.
Again, NPCs aren’t limited like all player characters are. She was the only non whitish-blue Void Elf, even among the other NPCs. It was to set her apart.

I’m sorry Holymogs but you can’t pass judgement on anyone dressing like that. Stay in your lane
Makes more sense that her people can contain the void to the point they look normalish like she can with practice.
I mean they didn’t even keep Tyrande’s dark eyes an NPC only thing, extending that to her faction.

Except, it wasn’t. In MacAree, there was no relevance or story relating to the Void Elves. And the Void Elves, as well as Magister Umbric, was not even heard of until the introduction of Void Elves as a playable allied race.
And if it was to keep Alleria relevant, then why is it she takes almost no involvement to the BfA story, unlike First Arcanist Thalyssra, who played a major role in Legion too.
Again, NPCs aren’t limited like all player characters are. She was the only non whitish-blue Void Elf, even among the other NPCs. It was to set her apart.
And I’m talking about an in universe definition of what a Void Elf actually is. Which the upcoming customization expansion fully endorses.
So if neither gameplay nor lore support the notion that a Void Elf “must be blue,” On what account are you correct then?

It’s clear Blizzard has wanted to pull the trigger on transitioning the Blood Elves into a predominantly Light-based civilization for a long time, and clearly the Void Elves were conceptualized as a Void-suffused society.
These customization options seem to be what you’d come up with if your team wasn’t wholeheartedly committed to enforcing the aforementioned aesthetic progressions for either BE’s or VE’s, and so have decided to allow both groups to play as something akin to “a traditional Thalassian”.
I’ve yet to decide whether this is “good” or “bad”.
Merely an assumption on your part, which is, as pointed out, contradicted by the, you know, facts.

And yet, confirmed by Blizzard, within this very thread, Void Elves are getting normal skin tons and blue eye colours.

Are you on a recursive loop? You are assuming it was to set her apart, evidence -the fact that new skin tones are available in SL for VE’s- makes that assumption moot.
finally honoring the ALLIANCE HIGH ELVES and not THE COWARD TRAITORS WHO ABANDONED LORDAERON KNOWN AS THE BLOOD ELVES
Leave it to someone named Fobnob to try and argue, in a thread where Blizzard is actively telling you that Void Elves don’t need to be blue-skinned, that all Void Elves must have blue skin.
Excellent.
