New Customization Options for Blood Elves and Void Elves

I did the Tournament back in Wrath, but never bothered with the SC Steed, Tabard, Or Hippogryph till some time after Void Elves came out.

I tried doing it while it was current but I couldn’t force myself to do the jousting. So nice to just be able to blow through it all!

Good grief.

They have been mutated by the void. My character may be the same person she was as a Blood Elf, but her body has still been permanently altered. Therefor she is now a different race.

That’s how I see it too honestly.

The wayfarers present an interesting question. What are they?

Void Elves in training.

I meant assuming they go the Alleria route. (thus explaining high elf skin tones)

Are they changed enough through that process to be a different race?

Wrong. Not all, not by a long shot.

All my characters are Orc, yet Blood elves, void elves and Nightelves are some of my most favorite races. I am a big lore nerd however, so not everybody would feel the same towards races that they don’t personally play.

I’ve been saying it all week pro helfs don’t like that

Being mutated by something doesn’t suddenly mean you’re no longer a thalassian elf. They still refer to themselves as elves too. And Blizzard has never said their affliction is permanent?

You guys are just headcanoning this stuff in an attempt to make our requests/arguments look weaker. Look throughout all of WoW–it’s never been shown that these Ren’dorei aren’t the same race as what they used to be.

Really?

In game we’ll still be void elves. It’s logical to assume that the skintones represents wayfarers and scholars completing their Training Ala Alleria.

RP what you want, that’s probably the main reason blizzard chose to do this, but you can’t erase Velfs.

(blizz could add more lore of high elves joining of course or lore that suggests it’s like Wildhammer dwarves.)

For the same reason that it denies them access to paladins and the name of high elves

many still have hopes that they are sub-races, but the most sensible ones know that they are the wayfare that are outside of telrus rift, we will see when they give their point of view in the stream

Yes, because the racials are staying the same.

Given how blizzard has been doing things like druids and Pallies and shaman lately? Void Pallies could be on the table still. Lol

Not holding my breath.

The sub race thing I actually support with optional racials within reason… Though honestly I think that’s cause I want Wildhammer stormhammers and Kelfin with their racials.

Still though… You cannot discount the wayfarers and scholars.

Nor should we expect the lore for Velfs to be retconned or abandoned.

so lore is impossible the void elf paladins let’s be serious

Another thing is that they make subraces, which I don’t think is on the table either

I still hope that the stream will be short and explain this

I am hoping after seeing all the feedback they opt for subraces or a separate AR for high elves.

We have void tentacles growing out of our heads. Our racials are different from Blood Elves. Yes, we are a different race. Next you’re gonna tell me Nightborne are the same race as Night Elves.

Some have been for over 2 years now.

A certain group would love nothing more then for this to happen.

Some do, some don’t. The fact that they’re now getting High Elf eyes is proof they’re still the same people. You can literally make a High Elf if you don’t choose to have tendril haircuts. And even if you couldn’t, it wouldn’t mean they aren’t thalassian elves.

I don’t like retconning or flip-flopping story, so Alamara will still be ren’dorei. But her quest to heal herself from this curse will have paid, as her skins returns to normal. She will still have power over the void thought, shown in her new purple eyes, and will use it carefully to keep her condition under control.
