New Customization Options for Blood Elves and Void Elves

Fair do’s, man. That’s perfectly reasonable.

People really need to identify this as a special case here.

People have always wanted Helves and having visual options to roleplay as that more strongly does not in fact remove Void Elves from the game.

Just because they have might have cosmetic options to hide Entropic Embrace effect that doesn’t in fact remove the ability from the game. I never use the teleport thing anyway because it’s terrible.

Again, this is a special case, have sympathy for it.

What’s more you will still look at them on your screen as ‘Void Elf’ and can still be 100% that in your corner.

Let people have options to roleplay as a race they wanted for YEARS. It is not in fact taking anything away from your gaming experience so stop pretending it is. Indeed all you are doing is wishing to take away from THEIR experience.

Again stop with the doomsaying because I think you’ll find the average joe who just logs in and plays what’s ‘cool’ will see that purple skin - not caring what it actually means - and just roll it.

As for Paladins I’m indifferent. Alliance has enough options, but I wouldn’t object to it-- if it was added Horde would need a new class option to compensate and balance things.

The only things I’d ask for are ‘normal hair’ and an option to hide the EE appearance. Also EE is itself a special case in being unsually dramatic in how it looks for a racial proc.

At this point, I’m just having fun with it!

I say eh whatever, they are going to put in what they want to put in anyway.

Then the best you can do is to make suggestions that you would like to see.

I’m trying to make suggestions that enhance both preferences. Toggable tendrils/braids could allow any new or old haircut to fit either fantasy.

Hah, pretty much. I mean I’m still like half suspicious that this was all just a happy accident and they had no idea what High Elves were or that anyone had requested anything remotely close to this at all tbh. >.>

I have. Please see above.

Like I said, I’m not here to bully. I’m just here to point out feedback based on concerns I have for future implementation and to give thoughts on how I would like things to go.

And again. I would like to point out that my concerns are all based on the continue and expanding future requests being put out.

I love the new customization options, and was happy for helf fans until it got to a point where I think some of the worst parts of the fandom have really just soured my opinions a bit.

I’d still love high elves to be their own thing, but I recognize blizz is in a tough spot with this. If high elves become their own thing, antis will be upset, and people who want other races will see it as another reskin. Going with giving the void elves high elf skin has void elf fans upset and also upsets some antis.

I am grateful to them for doing this much for us.

My Wishlist is:

-Dark Ranger stuff for Belves
-Red Ranger tats for Belves
-Normal short spiky hair for Velves even if Voided.
-Avarie to be happy.

You need to step back and look at proportionality then.

Seems to me your painting the whole team with the crazy brush of a tiny few. That’s not fair, and your criticisms are in fact illegitimate by not considering this.

You know it’s not a good foundation the effective argument of “Well, you should forget that idea because Mad Michael over the back there is ranting and screaming about it asking for all kinds of random stuff.”

It’s not hard to question if in fact you yourself have a hidden agenda.

Red tattoos would look amazing! I am hoping you get your dark ranger looks too!

And this is what I mean by the fact that I’ve had really unpleasant interactions with the helf fan base.

Yikes.

I’ve voiced my concerns. Even the other helf fans said they were reasonable.

Also, I’m allowed to have negative options… Especially when there’s been a majority of interactions from people like yourself. Who are just… really unpleasant.

Hey Nindraine. just for clarification. The above is kind of what I meant really.

No, read through that and tell me what kind of irrationality or offence has been displayed.

Have you ever considered the uinpleasantless of misrepresenting a faction by taking examples from the minority of extreme views as the bedrock of your case? That’s an old trick, and it isn’t a fair or nice one.

Okay. I’ll take you at your word and try lay out some ground work for you.

  1. I have a problem with the helf fanbase because the MAJORITY of my interactions has been negative. That’s just how things are. I’m sorry.

  2. While that has dictated some of my judgement. That’s just how judgement works, but I’ve also continue expressing that I am happy that the customization, and I would never tell an helf rper that they couldn’t rp an helf.

  3. My views of the fandom doesn’t weigh all that heavily on my feedback. My feedback for the void elves has been this since they announced the changes and people started asking for me.

  4. Really 3.5, before the announcement, I wouldn’t have referred to myself as a helf fan, but I was an ally to the fandom. Check my posting history. I’ve always been pro high elf. I still am on a freedom of choice scenario. I just also have concerns as a void elf fan and I’m not going to let you convince me they aren’t valid just because you don’t think they are important.

That last part is why I lumped you in with that unpleasant helf experience.

There…does that sum everything up?

(again apologies for spelling: multi-tasking and dyslexia make poor bed fellows)

After years of hostility in these discussions, we got too much defensive around here, so I’m honestly sorry about that.

I hope so.
It would also help if people would stop making personal attacks.
At least it’s calmed down today.

Thats fair. I’ve had a few positive ones. There are individuals who are great on here and they know who they are.

And I get being defensive and the reason why. These forums are mine fields. Still, I’ve always tried to support your case, or at least didn’t try to stop it. So, now when I do finally voice, what I think, is some pretty minor concerns…the straight attempts at bullying and silencing I’ve seen are pretty disappointing over all.

Like serious, the person above is, if I’m reading it correctly, willing to disregard my whole thought process because they somehow felt that because i wasn’t a fan of the …fandom (weird sentence) that it meant that was my only basis of having any issue.

How would that not color things kind of negatively.

Negative? What because they disagree with you? Honestly I think you’ll find you’ve displayed plenty of that.

‘That last part’? No, because you didn’t actually explain how. I think you’ll find I’ve been coldly debating and not considering being nice, or indeed not nice. I have not being personally offensive or toxic in any way to you.

Well you continue to act like somehow things are being taken away. Just why is it so important that everyone else be a ‘Void Elf’ in your terms, when it’s the case that YOU can be exactly the Void Elf you want to be-- and that isn’t changing.

Given all the context, as in huge desire for High Elves. The fact that Void Elves had a very mixed reception. The almost certainty that no more elves will be added. The fact that other races are receiving comparable variants. The fact that Blizzard has strongly hinted at a change in how future Void Elves will be and will be recruited.

People are going to be naturally disagreeable with those that seem hellbent on pushing against extra CHOICE that in reality doesn’t effect them.

Really.

“I don’t want you to have something, despite the fact I can continue to have what I want-- and indeed I will argue to impose having what I want on others.”

over:

“I want to have something, and you can keep what you want.”

I know which argument I will look at more favourably.

Blizzard? I think Blizzard will more of listen to the ideas suggested by the playerbase then those in refusal of the idea by the playerbase.

Okay…I didn’t see anything that actually responded to my thoughts…so I’m going just give this a pass. I feel like you’re being defensive in things you think I said… I can’t, and won’t, defend against that. Sorry.

Continue to give feedback that you want more choices… I think that’s good.

I’ll keep giving feedback that I have some concerns on how things will play out if certain requests are met.

That’s all either of us can do really.

I’ve responded to your concerned about Void Elves being allegedly diluted many times. Hopefully people will read the whole thread and not just the bottom responses, which would of course favour people who say things like:

“Well you haven’t answered any of my concerns.”

For the past 10 or so posts you’ve made, all you’ve done is talk about your unpleasant experiences-- and I’ve been responding to that directly by telling you that is taking a minority of people and blowing it up to make it look like it’s larger than it is.

At this point as well I’d question exactly what you define as ‘unpleasant’. Clearly you consider me this, but I’d like you to point out an example.

I mean just how many more times do I need to talk specifically about Void Elves and how those customisations make sense, to me and others? You may disagree but you can’t somehow say I’m not making arguments.

You know being defensive in debate is actually quite normal.
