I’m also all about data but I can understand where the argument is for private servers and a blizzard quality server in regards to values. I agree that unless you provide data it’s a speculation but I will say that if the private server coders got a few things wrong that were brought up there is a high likelyhood of error on the other things that they coded as well. I think its fair to make that generalization as we know they didn’t have actual values. I dont think this is a scathing flaw as the private coders used what they thought worked. I cannot prove this as it is a speculation and I dont have the data sets of both servers. I would however put money on the basis that they have a lot more values incorrect than what we know of.
That’s not enough for this guy he wants you to do his homework for him. Either way, you summarized it quite well.
Who’s bashing? Private server champions on here and on reddit are the ones getting defensive.
Private servers are inaccurate. That’s fact.
You know, you’re not making it any better by talking like this.
Good interview, and thanks for providing the translation!
He is merely stating the truth.
That is beside the point. I think some of you get off on constant bickering.
I would say the blatant denial by some folks are more fruztrating than anything else Which usually leads to bickering.
I know. I guess maybe I’m just old or something, but Classic will be out in 6-8 months and this will all be mostly settled. People just don’t got no chill.
i think most people dont really care if its not 100% accurate. ND is close enough, especially for people that dont raid much
Lol. Not too sure how to categorize the chill from the most ardent pserver players. Categorizing them in one bucket is unfair to tje great people ive met on them.

Which is why i play. I did do molten core though for kicks. Talk about arcane power in greens and not going oom. Lol.
Nice find! Thanks for the post op
Not surprised by the private server inaccuracies in the slightest.
Hearing him talk about Charge gives me the desire to get in there and test all kinds of things. There’s so many minute details that people forget about or misremember. Random example…casting Ice Block while falling. I remember there was a time when if you cast it in the air you would freeze and stop mid-flight. I always thought that was hilarious, and I was bummed out when they changed it so that you’d keep falling while Ice Blocked. Apparently it started off like it is now, but at a certain point (I think later Vanilla?) you’d freeze in mid-air for the duration. My hope is that that time was the sweet spot that they have in the 1.12 client they’re using as a reference. Little things like that I miss.
By the way, I think we really lucked out on these devs. There’s a real passion and fondness for Vanilla that they clearly possess. I’m thrilled we have these guys working on the game.
