ive started making some notes and theorys to work out new classes and fantasy’s in wow as there has been rumor’s of new classes coming in future Xpac’s
whats your thoughts on new classes and how they fit in the wow story and the current game
would love to hear your theorys and class Fatasy’s
here’s what ive come to conlusion so far and feel would make great edition to the current game
New classes? Multiple?
Possible theory adding in 2x new classes ea Xpac (Midnight) (Titan)
to counter one another for balance pvp/pve ?
New Class : Spell Breaker Spellbreaker for Midnight, because elves. Or something void related.
About: Heavily Armoured (Plate) Caster?
Spec 1 : Tank
spec 2 : DMG
Spec 3 : utility? like Augmentation?
New Class: Tinker Tinker for Last Titan, because titans = tech.
Maybe. Although Midnight does sound more holy focused.
In Midnight, players will return to Quel’Thalas, where the forces of the Void have invaded Azeroth, intent on claiming the Sunwell and plunging the world into darkness and fear. Players will help reunify the scattered elven tribes of Azeroth and ultimately fight alongside the forces of the Light to banish the Shadow forever.
As much as I want a new class like tinker, sprinkling some new specs around would be a better move.
Warlock/shaman/evoker please
(And no warlock tank is not DH, if it involves jumping around and slashing with warglaives, thats not what I’m looking for. More, curse debuffing for defensives and energy slashes for damage. Fel flame cone for flavor)
Personally hoping they forego a new class, and instead work on balancing the existing classes & adding more optional/purely cosmetic class fantasy glyph options, so that we can individualize our current classes to suit the aesthetics we want to see.
But if we do get a new class, something with arcane or void magic would make sense, given the plot of the expansion.
If they did it at the same pace as classes it’d be 8 expansions before every class got another spec with no prospect of getting any new classes for that long either.
I’ll take new classes and/or new specs. I don’t even care— just want something new to level up. :3
Tinker sounds the most fun though. There’s so much potential! You could make a mech suit, you could make a mech pet, you could have a backpack full of gadgets, you could throw potions…
i feel like new Classes would be more Fresh and people can nostalgize over the current with obviously updates changes and spells added via hero talents/talent trees etc?
I don’t think no more classes is a problem since we already have 13 of them and 39 specs. Not all classes need more specs either, i.e. Druid already has 4, but DHs only have 2. Also, they could start with what they’ve already done for Season of Discovery and give us Warlock, Rogue and Shaman tanks, Mage healer, etc. or at least something similar.
i like that,
i was also thinking they would add a Utility spec to each new class like the Augmentation spec from evoker as there isnt any in competition with it and would need more for that reason?
Honestly, the way it looks, the Aug and support spec experiment was shot in the head. Apparently Blizzard has a hard time designing the Support style specs in a way that doesn’t require them being literally required to do content or being incapable of playing the game. For some reason the needle only goes to extremes for them on this.
It’s obviously possible to do, FFXIV has multiple of them, but Blizzard failed hard with Aug providing armor and such. It should have just been a flat damage buff to the group with some niche group defensives and maybe assisted chip heals. And, now the spec is basically unplayable until they figure out what they are doing.
I have zero hopes that they recover the spec from the place it was at. I have a feeling it’s being either reworked to fit tanking or converted into just another DPS spec for them. And I doubt we will ever see another class get a similar spec with as hard as this has bombed.
The thing with FFXIV supports is that they mostly provide stuff WoW classes just provide baseline.
Like red mage’s support stuff is battle rez, off healing, and a buff that makes everyone do 5% more damage for 20 seconds.
WoW has a number of classes with battle rez without having a damage penalty. Most hybrids can off heal to a small degrees without having a damage penalty. And classes like DH and monk provide flat, permanent damage buffs to the group without having a damage penalty.
It’s not so much that FFXIV can do it but WoW can’t, it’s that WoW expects every class to bring some kind of utility like that and doesn’t penalize their personal damage for it.
yes, im really hoping to see the SpellBreaker class from warcraft 111
if im not wrong, Chris Metzen said that Midnight will include the Elves uniting and that it will include Silvermoon, and very likely the Void.
When it comes to that statement I personally thought of Spellbreaker as a new class (granted we get more). I do think it would be a cool addition
and I think it would make sense with the story.
