New classes? Multiple? (Midnight) / (Titan)

We’re going to get new Hero Specs and 2 new Allied Races(High Elves for Alliance, Amani Troll for Horde) in Midnight.

We’ll get new Hero Specs, 1 new Allied Race, and a new Class in TLT.

that’s my blind prediction.

yea i feel Spellbreaker/Warden will be a good fit for the Elves and dark elves theme going into the xpac Midnight

and for the Allied race potentially Etherals, possibly come out with a class Artificer with it

its all in the wow history it all ties into the story very well too im excited if the rumors are true <3

Artificer would work really well if ethereals were made playable in Midnight.

Blood elves and nightborne also got a lot of magi-tech going on so it covers the elf angle of Midnight pretty well. Draenei are also likely to be involved and they are the main Artificer race in WoW.

Spellbreaker by itself isn’t enough for a full class imo, but wrap battlemage, riftblades and warden with it and you have a broad concept for anti-mage arcane melee that’s fully in theme (it’s also easier to make it cover more races than just elves than it was for DH) - they could probably use some of Spellblade Aluriel’s moveset if it doesn’t cause a riot from the enh mains.

Also maybe it’s silly but I think if they wanted to make up for DH, it wouldn’t be super hard to justify locking Tinker, at release, to just some races (I’d argue gnome, goblin, dwarf, orc, earthen are a shoe-in, maaaaaybe forsaken and humans) - with the idea that the others are more likely to focus on magic than engineering (even draenei tech is more magitech).

I’m not actually against Spellbreaker because Elisande would be a great way to make it fit. Although with Lady Liadrin having the greatest possibility to become the focus of the expansion, it’s very likey they’ll rearrange spell breakers are prot paladins given she and the blood knights already resembles spell breakers. :8ball::robot:

It would be cool if specs had sub specs for flavor that you could unlock similar to the special races

It would be cool to finally get high elves if they could work that back in. Theres alot of post BC reference throughout so food for thought

I really want a Bard based on the Radiant Song. It definitely feels like there is something going on with it, the song, and it will play a role in the next class. Id like it to be a (real) ranged caster. No melee please, we have enough of those. I don’t want a bard that is support- as aug has shown the player base cant handle that, but a music based spell caster would be amazing imo.

I’m extremely opposed to the idea of a tinker class- it just gives me the ick, but i understand why people would like the fantasy. The current patch of undermine really put me off of the idea. I don’t like the goblins/gnomes machinery- wow should stay fantasy and leave the mechs in undermine.

i want new specs personally.

Holy damage caster for example, either priest or paladin.

Shadow hunter, basically re introducing the old survival with a twist

Earth centric shaman spec

Etc etc… There are quite a few ideas

Warrior mage spec, basically spellsword. In fact this is exactly what i wanted augmentation to be. Essentially a spellsword.

But yea, don’t listen to people saying that there are enough, people who argue for the stagnation of the game shouldn’t be taken seriously basically ever.

i do agree, but i was also thinking that if there was to be added a few not just one new class over the coming World Soul Saga

i feel it would make the game a little more fresh and give it a new unique feel with more entire new class / specs / races rather than changing current classes as alot of people also dont like change on there current classes etc if that makes sense?

more options more to learn more fun? more fun ways to heal and/ or Tank as the game needs more and a new to entice people to do so / enjoy it

would it get old quick though as just being another spec rather an entire new class? and it possibly changing the meta and way we play the game?

Tank spec for hunters with shield and spear, please. Bonus points if they can keep their pet.

I know they’d never do it but a tank spec that uses an offhand dagger for parrying and some of its attacks is a niche that would ne nice.

Mostly I’m thinking about it because I find trying to make a proper setup on outlaw annoying with dual swords (but Florentine School-style with dual rapiers just looks incredibly goofy) and I was briefly on my rogue today.

That said this isn’t particularly specific to potential classes for Midnight or TLT and I’d imagine a hypothetical spellblade tank spec would probably use a shield

I had no idea the rogue tank in sod was based on combat instead of subtlety so they did in fact make the exact tank spec I said would never happen there, oops.

Has been odd we haven’t seen the radiant song as a more hostile threat much like Murmur resembles as a strange elemental. :robot::thought_balloon:

I might be biased but i’m surprised as advancing warfare has historically been part of warcraft especially for the horde and alliance. :robot::bomb:

It’s not a damn song written on sheet paper, it’s a worldsoul’s distress signal that manifests as something you can hear, see, and feel. Its existence isn’t going to lead to bards any more than the events of any previous expansion would have.

It’s a major plot element for this expansion and the next two, that does not automatically mean it’s going to play a part in the next class. The song isn’t going to magically imbue people with the power of music, and it doesn’t need someone who’s already good at music to interpret it.

This tinfoil hattery around bards is long past ridiculous. Imagine writing an epic three-part story about saving a planet from extradimensional horrors and learning the truth about its creators, and the class you decide to introduce during it is someone who’s just really good at playing a particular instrument.

Someone who can master the universal magic of creation contained in music, the epic cycles and also who likely has a mastery of history beyond rote spellflingers

Bard being just “someone who is good at instruments” is only a thing because a lot of people in fantasy spaces have limited understanding of the mythology involved.

That Sunwell has caused more problems. I say drain it and turn it into a nice wading pool.

My shadow priest is going to have something to say about that!

Personally, I don’t need any more races or classes unless they are really special. Reskinned races are not it. Neither are races that can’t use transmog. Certainly not a class that can only be played by one race (really Blizzard, you couldn’t come up with two unique dragonoid forms? It’s isn’t like you set a high bar with the first one.).

The dracthyr’s ability to fly and the way they perform several of the evoker spells makes them really special but the rest of them is… not special, the opposite of special.

Dev evoker is pretty special but it can only be performed by one class because so many of the spells are tied to that classes’ physical form.

If Blizzard is going to give us a new race or class I would like see overall special, not great in this way but the opposite of special in that way.

Otherwise, I think they should put the resources into something else that is average or okay and make it great instead.

It’s not like we need any more races or classes right now. There are enough of both to create a lot of interesting characters.

Actually, a bard who could do that, as in make music a person would hear, see and feel and be effected all those ways, would make a really cool class.

And they could learn it that way, by hearing, seeing and feeling it, no sheet music required.

We are picturing different things.

As others have said- there are songs of creation and it would be neat to explore that theme with a new class. Looking all the way back to Zerith Mortis there were musical themes. Priests use some song based magic in healing. I never said that a guitar, lute or other instrument is necessary to facilitate the music.

I just want a class that is not melee or too thematic. All of the added classes such far have been flavored so heavily I cant stand to play them as more than an alt. I’m hoping we can get back to low fantasy at some point and leave all the class design that’s akin to chugging a 2L of mountain dew in the past.
