Why does the Shaman set look more like it’d be a better fit for like a Mayan/Zandalari Priest set?

I think it works pretty well as a monk set.
But i will admit, my monk wears a lot less heavy clothing than that. Or clothing in general.
Just a shirt and shorts.

That mage set. Happy Holidays indeed.
Looks like a new remake of Herod from scarlet monastery in particular. Now imagine if they had done a sweet new red black and gold 2h axe to bladestorm with.

It’s more unique, yeah, but like you I remain unimpressed. I am grateful that they changed it either way, I guess. Still not buying though.

It doesn’t it’s Samurai armor and it seriously bothers me as I know the history of which Blizzard based the origins of monks in WoW on.
After seeing all the stuff above them, I was super excited to see the hunter mogs… The armor and weapons are so dull and boring compared to almost everything else.
Edit: Also, interesting that a set named after Krag’wa has wolf iconography instead of frog iconography.

It’s based on Herod, the original icons were even named as such.
The weapons are just bad though. They’re based on Worgen and Forsaken for no apparent reason (new Forsaken guard iconography is very similar, even down to the big L for Lordaeron, making the sword feel a lot like leftover design), which would be fine if the armor had even a remotely similar theme.
Warriors also got two Prot weapons, which means Arms and Fury share the 2h, whereas every other class has something unique for each spec, which is a massive disappointment.

Looking at them again I see you’re right.
The 2-H sword is indeed a Forsaken weapon and the Sword/Shield are based off the Worgen Racial symbol.
So I guess we aren’t getting anything Artifact related which is a real bummer.
I can see why they wouldn’t give 2 2-handers but at the same time that is a unique Warrior feature.
They could have combined Stromkar with the Warswords if they where that worried. Since they are both hook faced swords.
Again, they do not look bad at all, but they are not designed for the class, just for races.
We just had a Bird themed set for the last raid in SL. Animal themed armor fits into the Hunter theme, but try some original ideas. It is more evidence that Hunters are an after thought this expansion.

I don’t. They gave DK’s two 2hrs (alongside a 1h Frost sword), they gave Rogues two daggers (alongside an Outlaw sword), they gave Hunters two ranged weapons (alongside a Survival spear). There’s absolutely no reason they couldn’t have made an additional 2h Mace, Axe, or nice set of paired weapons for Fury, except for the fact they decided to make a sword and shield for Prot instead of just one or the other.
Which I get, but it’s still incredibly lame, especially with how specifically themed the 2h (and sword/shield for that matter) is.
