Nice. Looking forward to it.

does that mean that outdoor areas will not be repurposed as dungeons? if so, hype!

“Team up with a demon hunter in Murder Row to expose a hidden ring of blood elves practicing forbidden Fel magic in the underbelly of Silvermoon City. Infiltrate speakeasies, unmask corrupt guards, and uncover warehouses packed with demons to purge the city of its lingering corruption.”

So it’s a Demon Hunter that’s sending people to murder Warlocks for the “crime” of Warlocking, huh?

That tracks.

Do we get the option to side with the Warlocks and destroy the bastard’s soul?

I like seeing a few repurposed outdoor areas. The area that became Floodgate was incredible to see reimagined as an entire dungeon. When flying around on your mounts in the outdoors, it looks tiny, but when forced to be on foot, you can really explore.

3 blood elf dungeons ME LOVE IT

Blizzard really love screwing Warlocks over with Demon Hunters don’t they? :joy:

So… is fel suddenly illegal in Silvermoon? Everything so far seems to be implying fel is a thing of the past and using it now is a no-no, but at the same time we’re teaming up with a demon hunter? Is fel allowed in Silvermoon or not? It’ll be awkward for all the blood elf warlocks if suddenly they’re kicked out a la void elves.

I mean, we just got warlocks for all players in dragonflight, and now the city we’re going to next expansion seems to be hunting ‘practicing forbidden Fel magic users’ (articles exact wording on warlocks) and the dungeon revolves around ‘purge the city of its lingering corruption’ (again, exact wording used in the article).

Blood elves, the ones who turned to fel to survive? I mean, I understand them not wanting it anymore and it becoming shady, or looked down upon, or they’re kind of having to only operate in Murder Row now instead of in the city openly… but really? Even the Alliance allows warlocks. Maybe some confirmation pre-beta that this is only some crazy sect of warlocks and fel is, in fact, not outlawed in Quel’thalas would do some good.

He’s just trying to take more warlock spells for himself!

Forbidden fel magic. But the guy who ate a demon heart and is growing horns is perfectly okay, deputized perhaps even. Makes sense.

Wonder what the dozens of blood elf warlock players I see hanging around Silvermoon are supposed to do once Midnight comes. The Alliance does seem pretty welcoming on that front I guess.

Grey area. Warlock main headquarters in Stormwind is in the basement of the tavern The Slaughtered Lamb, since vanilla, and it is still considered unfit for polite society. Warlocks will always be on the fringes.

But that’s still allowed. They’re still operating within city limits tbf (even if the city limit is vertical and not horizontal in the case of the basement). They keep it out of sight, but ultimately it is allowed within certain means. They definitely aren’t acting in a ‘purge the city of its lingering corruption’ angle that the dungeon seems to be implying we’re doing to warlocks.

There’s a warlock hanging out in Bel’ameth in the open playing with fel in his hands lol, the draenei just accepted eredar in who are now teaching their people how to be warlocks. Thrall let warlocks practice in the cleft. Its only the blood elves who have decided its completely outlawed, which flies in the face of one of the larger appeals of the horde as a whole. Crazy that the alliance is now more diverse in thought and practice nowadays.

Whoa 8 whole dungeons, what a crazy amount

I’m gonna go ahead and guarantee you the warlocks we go kill aren’t just politely practicing summoning imps for fun. Exceptions exist in the players and a few NPCs, but with Warlocks the rule is evil and depraved. Just how it is.

Again though, its just the blood elves deciding this. When the Draenei are more accepting of fel magic than the blood elves somethings clearly gotten a little wonky. And I don’t buy the “well warlocks are evil” in a post Legion world.

If these guys are some kind of pure evil legion aligned doomsday cult sure, I wish they’d clarify because right now its just sounding like “fel = die”

You’re going to be walking around the city, so clearly they’re not hunting down all warlocks. Just the 99% who are irredeemable.

Sounds poorly thought out and executed.
So seems like standard blizzard fare to me.

The Light-infused botani-esque (unless they actually are botani) characters in Blinding Vale look really cool. Any chance there will be a toy to let people look like them, since they’re obviously another race with no chance of being fully playable?

I’m assuming that these elves are ‘bad’ even within the context of fel users, not just rooting out and purging fel users in general. As you’ve noted, we’re working with a demon hunter here, so it stands to reason that whatever these elves are doing is actually something we want to stop because it’s a threat to Silvermoon, if not beyond it.
