New Brutosaur is CHEAP - why are people mad?

Old Brutosaur - 5 mill gold - in BFA. Equivalent to almost gold cap today?

New “Improved” Brutosaur - 1.2 million gold or $90… Why are you upset? Buy 6 wow tokens (Current price 209k).

I mean Blizz could have brought this back for 5 mil gold and NO ONE would have been upset. But they made it 3.8mil gold Cheaper or you could just give them a LOT LESS real world currency to buy it direct.

How much real world currency was 5 mil gold back in BFA? $550 ish… and you’re mad that they cut 85% off that price and give it to you for $90.

The GOLD SINK mounts cost MORE than the brutosaur. WHY are people upset? We asked for YEARS to bring this back, and everyone was willing to pay Gold cap etc for the old one on the BMAH. Now they brink it back at 15% of the cost, AND give you the ability to just buy with real world currency, and you are UPSET? huh?

THANK YOU BLIZZARD FOR BRINGING THIS BACK!!!

Because it came at a bad time
this patch has been riddled with bugs caused most likely by the mass layoffs at blizzard, then right after they add the most expensive mount to the store
I doubt people would’ve cared as much if the patch was working

The only thing that irks me about it, is that it’s set as a ‘LIMITED-TIME’ item — which gives it a ‘FOMO’ flavour in a sense, but worse off given it’s purchased with IRL money sort of applies an elitism to the real world status of a person’s wealth. :person_shrugging:

The original one was a FOMO mount as well. A LOT of this game is FOMO and that’s what makes them special. And… on top of that Blizz just gave us an option at 85% less than the original. And almost 2.5 months to acquire 1.3mil gold which with current content isn’t that difficult. Literally just join a BOE farm or do a gathering profession for a little bit.

I think for some people, it’s sort of a knee jerk reaction. They see $90 irl dollars tagged to the mount and got upset.

tbf I was the same, though I wasn’t angry or upset. My first reaction to seeing the price was “wow, that’s $90 for a mount”, not “wow, that’s 1.2 million gold”.

are the mad people in the room with us now

They’re mad about a lot of other things, and the Dinosaur is what they’re focusing their rage on.

It’s basically Blizzard’s tank.

In my case (and the case of anyone in Australia) I see $120. For a mount.

I don’t care how pretty it is. I don’t care what vendors its has. I don’t care if it dresses in a tutu and dances Swan Lake. $120 for a mount is outrageous.

Why bother to give us content for what we pay now to play the game? Just put expensive cosmetic items up for sale and rake in the money. Watch the creative, good content drop as the new, clever FOTM items pop up for sale.

Am I overreacting? Possibly. Putting the occasional relatively cheap store mount up on the shop is one thing, but taking advantage of something a lot of players have asked for over a long time and then hiking its price seems just so manipulative. And if they see this is a success, don’t tell it wont happen again, because I’m not quite that optimistic.

Original was purchased with in-game gold, than IRL money only though. :person_shrugging:

You can literally buy it with gold, which you earn by playing the game. What the hell are you on about? Drinking too much Shiraz.

This is not accurate.

The old one could be purchased with IRL money as well through WoW tokens for $550 USD or 5 mil in game gold.

The current one is EXACTLY the same. it is not IRL money only, it CAN be bought with gold through wow tokens at 20% of the original cost? The current one is ONLY 1.2mil gold.

So both could be bought with either currency, the ONLY Difference is this mount is BETTER and about 80-85% CHEAPER.

I was under the impression you could no longer convert WoW tokens to bnet credits. :person_shrugging: I guess such isn’t the case.

No need to be arrogantly rude though.

You can buy anything off of the Blizzard app store with gold.

Thats the thing. They could have not made people spend real money in some form or another. But they didn’t.

In fact token price is 20 x 6 or 120 bucks. And you still pay sales tax

Now look who’s “almost getting it.”

The fact blizz both buys back a overstock of tokens and sells tokens to stimulate growth of the ingame token economy ( such as how they added extra tokens after the price sky rocketed) does not impact the fact that tokens are sold for more than the credit given for said token. In fact it makes it so every token they buy back is 5 bucks they got for free.

Aaaaaand you’re back to the tinfoil hat.

Unfortunate.

Blizz stated 5x over the course of 5 years that they buy back unsold tokens by generating ingame gold to prevent the price from cratering. In addition when you list a token you are guaranteed the price or greater than the price you oroginally list it at, regardless of what it is bought at by a player.

$120 AUD is Cheaper than the $750 AUD required to buy the original. 84% savings over the original.

$120 AUD is the same equivalent to 6 WoW tokens, which is 1.2 mil gold which again is 3.8m gold CHEAPER than the Original. 76% savings over the original.

Was the original mount taking adv of player base? Would the same hate be show if blizz had just limited time release this (Like the original) for 5 mil again? or with inflation 9mil? that’s 25 wow tokens for 5 mil or 45 tokens for 9 mil…

So… that would be $500USD/$760AUD minimum or $900USD/$1360AUD…

I mean by all means re- realase Bruto as a 5 mil mount… but you are mad a blizz for doing you a HUGE favor and reducing the cost of the mount and making it better?

Blizzard does not artificially add or remove tokens - what they do is inflate or deflate gold based on the gold value you bought it for initially.

Beyond that we really don’t know how deep their regulation goes.

Feel free to cite it, if you claim otherwise, though.

Better yet, ask on the CS forums.
