It’s been a lot of weeks going dry for this thing and it’s really cool but it’s nothing but luck. I see so many people who barely play get it within 1-3 tries and I go every week. Can we not just buff the drop rate or get a drop rate that has bad luck protection? I just would rather have it be a challenge (not luck based) or bad luck protection for a bear skin.
You probably shouldn’t play mmo’s if you don’t like RNG.
Epic character name, OP. I sincerely hope you get your lucky drop soon.
A druid of each race (7)…got the runebear on 28th attempt ^^
We’re just going to ignore that OP might not be griping that RNG exists in an MMO, but instead might be griping that the RNG is just too punishing?
Nuance is hard.
edit: forgot to add “too” before punishing.
RNG is the basis of MMOs though. So to complain about RNG is to complain about MMO’s, respectively
The forums contain a lot of dumb things, this is pretty high on that list…RNG is RNG, news at 11.
RNG is not the basis of MMO’s. It’s clearly playing a massive, multiplayer, online, rpg. Although RNG is often featured. But we can both agree that RNG will exist and still discuss whether the RNG is tuned poorly.
For instance, the love rocket or the current legendary. I can accept RNG and still believe the drop rate is much too low. That’s not challenging the concept, it’s challenging the implementation. That’s what the OP appears to be doing.
Again, nuance. Getting tier is dictated by RNG. Getting the mount invincible is RNG. They are similar in kind, but not degree. Dumb is not being able to understand that. See above.
But the world is full of dumb people. News at 11.
Its called desire sensor. I had no interest on the rockbear, the felbear looks cooler imo, and got it on the second week on my main druid.
The purple dreamtalon on the other hand wich i do wanted, it took me 5 weeks of killing the rare, daily, with 3 druids before it dropped
Yea honestly I’m not a fan of mark of the hibernating runebear and not really a fan of the druid forms that look like wood. But good luck to you.
Gotta keep plugging away at it if you want the rune bear.
It took me about 25 attempts to get it, and it felt like everyother druid around me got it before I did.
I do wish we had access to some of the other rune bear tints, though.
Dumb is trying to compare getting a tier drop versus getting a mount drop to one of the most sought after mounts ever put into the game. The irony of you trying to lecture me on nuance after posting this drivel is comical.
How so? You say RNG is pivotal to the MMO (debatable); therefore, people can’t complain about RNG without denying the fabric of MMOs. I pointed out you could acknowledge RNG as a concept and still think the RNG in a particular instance is too punishing. An example to show the spectrum of RNG is tier set vs the mount Invincible. The OP literally asks for a buffed drop rate. Not the obliteration of RNG here:
But you reply:
So how am I the idiot posting drivel? You can’t see the difference in an object with a .001% drop rate vs something like a 25% drop rate?
Edit: I can’t think of a simpler way to explain this without the use of crayons and hand gestures. If you can’t understand at this point I’ll give up, though your insults have been entertaining.
Because i can get the .001% drop rate item before the 25% drop rate.
25% != 4th run = 100% nor does it mean it’ll drop 4 times in 16 runs.
Thanks. I can only hope he’s being purposefully obtuse to win an argument on the internet, because the alternative is kind of sad.
But it does mean it will drop - on average - 25,000 times as often. What point are you even trying to make, exactly? It doesn’t address any part of the comment you quoted.
What an ironic thing to say.
Actually, it does. Tier is meant to be much more common and easy to obtain. A rare form not so much. This has been a core tenet of mmo’s since their inception. The “I want” generations of people are staggeringly obtuse.
My point is RNG is RNG.
I got my bear form first try. Other people who have farmed it daily still do not have it. Why?
Because RNG.
You cannot predict when RNG will favor you. Or if it ever will. Doesnt really matter what the drop rates are honestly. And knowing and/or increasing the drop rates doesnt really help you either.
Why? RNG is RNG
I would try to explain the difference between what is possible and what is probable. But I don’t like my chances.
I mean you COULD get invincible before you get a tier drop…but is it likely? Nah.
…I don’t even know where to begin. RNG is RNG is such a low-resolution way to think. Drop rates reflect your chances of getting something each time you try. Do I look at my paycheck the same way I look at winning the lottery? Some companies go bust and people get fired making it likely I’ll get my next paycheck but not certain. Let’s say I’ve got a 98% drop rate for my check. But the lottery is 0.000001% as an example. Both are RNG, but one is highly more likely to occur. They aren’t the same in that way. Just like getting invincible isn’t the same as getting the Runebear appearance.
This doesn’t even factor how RNG can be different based on what you must do to roll the dice. The runebear is a low drop rate and weekly lockout. This changes your chances versus if you could farm the runners daily, hourly, etc.
You get this right? All are RNG, but each is different in implementation and chances.
