What if we changed our mastery to a counter attack. It can do 75% of weapon dmg. Every time we get hit by a ranged attack in melee range we counter and everytime we get hit by a melee attack we counter every other hit. Or every 3rd hit. But if its 3rd or 4th then maybe 90% of weapon dmg. How would you guys feel about that. We are supposed to be pristine masters of the twohanded build that are thoughtful and strategic.
We should get our mastery to be just like Varian’s counterattack thingey in HotS. That sh*t is so OP.

That would be worthless in PVE content, because your job as a dps isn’t to get hit. Good for Arenas though, probably OP in arenas.
Read the other parts about it turning into extra swings or more dmg output if not hit for 5 seconds
Your post talks nothing about turning it into a damage output if we’re not getting hit. Maybe you meant to, but you didn’t.

Boring compared to what? Almost all spec’s Mastery effects are +% damage to a subset of your abilities. Fury gets +Enrage damage, Unholy gets +Shadow damage, Demo gets +Pet damage, Sin Rogue has +Poison & Bleed damage.
Compared to those, the Arms Mastery is positively thrilling! It does something with a specific effect. You can look at your damage logs and see exactly how much of your DPS it contributed.
Now, a fair complaint might be that it does TOO much, and people dislike how much of their damage profile comes from the Mastery bleed. But that’s an entirely different thing from it being “boring” somehow.
Two issues, it doesn’t feel like what an Arms warrior mastery should be as a tactician then Prot has deep wounds too.
