I really don’t know why fans are freaking out over Pelagos becoming Arbiter. Honestly I feel bad for whoever gets the job. Their entire existence is mechanical - a great wheel in a cog. They’ll never experience a life of their own - just swiping left and right.
Also, for a fandom that gripes that you don’t care about the Shadowlands story you suddenly care so much about who’s Arbiter lol. It’s not going to affect our gameplay and no one will remember or care about it in 10.0
pelagos the figurehead for transrights in wow, while people forget that maldraxxus is the true equality realm; with the main covenant gimmick of maldraxi literally don’t care what you were in life, as long as you find a form you enjoy to fight with.

To be fair, Pelago we are told is not allowed to witness the purging of another’s memories, we are told this by one of the hands at the temple of loyalty when we accompany them to the temple to cleanse a fellow hand of the Archon (specifically because Pelagos freaks out at the experience). Additionally Pelagos does seem to remember something of her/his past life, like the fact that his new form is NOT the one he had in life (it’s revealed “he” was actually a “she” originally).
And suddenly Pelagos looks a lot more delicious… 
That would have been a great way to show that in wow afterlife you have the freedom to be who you are or feel.
But needed to create a character who only remembered by them telling us how they felt trapped in life, but are free.
Yea but she looked super cool. They designed one of the coolest looking characters in WoW with the Arbiter. I don’t know why they would be done with it so soon.

The Arbiter was a female entity that LITERALLY had NO VOICE, INCAPACITATED during the entirety of this expansion.
It became a tool for a male character and was deemed ONLY useful then. (Jailer)
Now I come to find out they are sending more abusive, repressive messages…
That this female entity robot can ONLY become empowered and have ANY type of life… if a male is involved or masculine traits??
It’s extremely abusive to insinuate a women can only be useful on account of male presence or influences.
