Is freaking Pelagos. The bumbling loser with self esteem muh wings issues who always needs to be saved by the player.
I mean I guess it makes sense since he’s so compassionate to others and impartial, I guess?
Idk, but I do wonder now what’s gonna happen to sylv. She can’t be sent to revendreth or the maw since she’s not dead. She won’t be the Arbiter. Maybe she’ll just sacrifice her self during zovaals fight? We’ll see.
Pelagos better do some crazy crap in 9.2 to justify making him the Arbiter lmao, or at least reveal that in life he was an important lore character like Aegwynn or something.
The truly sad thing is that I can see a universe where Pelagos becoming the Arbiter makes complete narrative sense given who he is, what his arc contains, and the environment in which he ended up.
Problem is, narrative endpoints need to be earned, and the writers completely dropped the ball when it came to writing Pelagos, making him relevant in the world, and giving him things to actually do.
Literally any other character we’ve met in Shadowlands thus far would make for a better Arbiter just based on the fact that they would be more competent.
The old Arbiter has no personality. Pelagos’ dialogue implies that he will lose his soul or something. They probably did this so the Arbiter couldn’t rebel, like Zovaal did.
Pelagos is almost certainly not from Azeroth. Neither he nor Kleia have any knowledge of our world, and considering they are soulbound the latter at least would have been aware of what Azeroth looked like during her trial, which she demonstrably was not.
The only competent act Pelagos did all of SL is constantly giving me mastery every time I used Divine Toll and throwing mastery balls in my face that I had to run around like a chicken to pick up.
