New Arbiter Confirmed SPOILERS

I don’t get their story writing.

I have no idea who this guy is, and they’re making him the ARBITER. Wtf.

I know he’s a soulbind but that’s literally it. 0 context for this dude that is about to become the most important being in the afterlife.

Yes go freak out over datamined stuff like what happened with tyrande where people didn’t have the whole context and thought she was gonna die

Were you just blind and deaf during the questing?

They’ve been known to toss false data into the mix to throw people off, but I doubt they think that far ahead now.

You mean the intro quest where I spent less than half a day leveling and never saw again bc I’m not an altaholic??

He was a random npc that had some voice lines and did nothing memorable. I completely forgot his existence until this announcement that they’re making him the arbiter lmao

And the Korthia questline?

I have a feeling he’s going to sacrifice his soul to fuel the new Arbiter, but it won’t really be him? Not sure, but I don’t think this is just going to be a simple case of “well you’re promoted now.”

When everyone at Burger King quits and management decides its your turn to be the supervisor.

“Well you’re promoted now” is about what I’m expecting, similar to what happened in WoD. At the end of the raid Gromm was seemingly forgiven and Yrel was suddenly the High Exarch. Because reasons I guess. It was addressed in BfA I guess when Yrel decided to go postal and start a holy war against…well, basically anyone who didn’t bow to her and the light.

I wanted to scream when Jaime ran back to Cersei.

And that was the top of the iceberg of how bad Season 8 was.

Yeah, he had the absolute best character development in the entire series. A true redemption arc. And then just…what? Why? How?

That’s the whole thing, the greatest are those that no ones knows. Anyone can be the hero no matter what part of life they came from.

To be fair though, Velen did kinda choose her as a successor when he gave her his mark.

Right, but in a normal expansion that would have been more of a process.

Let’s just be real and say in any other game. WoW storytelling is just bad, and it’s usually the fans that fill in the gaps themselves.

That…is a fair point.

I mean, it’s better than the lock-step “and then SYLVANAS becomes the new Arbiter!” StarCraft style retread a lot of people were fearing.

That said, the fact that they’re going with AN⠀arbiter when the whole thesis of the Shadowlands (and really a whole lot of WarCraft as a whole) is, “single points of catastrophic failure will doom existence”… trusting a process this monumentally important to anyone is just asking for this to happen again.

If the data mining is accurate… an initiate becomes the arbiter? wow more of Blizzards absolutely horrible writing.

Blizzard: “Crap, we’re running out of Horde characters to sacrifice or kill. Let’s go with…points in random direction THAT character!”

Even Velen was tolerable, he was already known even from the original Azeroth, a character who was worth saving his people from the corruption of the Legion.

In Bastion between Kleia, Xandria, Adrestes, Kalisthene, Archon herself, UNTIL UTHER, they would be worthy characters to be the new Arbiter, we saw that his efforts were in vain character who was empathizing us from the beginning in good times and bad and they have conquered our hearts…

Pelagos at no time made it known from the beginning what it is and what it does, it was just a mere LGBT Message character propaganda that Blizzard was going to offer to the government of California, THAT WAS ITS ONLY PURPOSE OUTSIDE THE VIDEO GAME, just for him pride of the company itself.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT.
