New Arbiter Confirmed SPOILERS

When Pelagos & Kleia became Shadowland entities, Bastion was still practicing the act of wiping away all memories from their past lives.

It wasn’t until after the Kyrian campaign that this practiced stopped, so Kleia & Pelagos not recognizing Azeroth doesn’t confirm they are not from there since their memories were wiped.

Doesn’t Pelagos talk about how he explicitly doesn’t let go of his past because he wants to hold on to what he is? That’s what makes him “different” and holds him back from ascension, at least until the entire Kyrian way of life is rewritten after our influence.

Anything Pelagos remembers, Kleia would as well, regardless of what memories she herself relinquishes.

Which I guess is not to say it’s impossible, but I feel like if the writers intended to have Pelagos be Azerothian, there would be at least some dialogue from either Pelagos or Kleia to at least hint to some level of familiarity, subconsciously or otherwise.

That’s highly unlikely. It seems that a lot Kyrians get thier Greek-styled names after they become Acolytes. Acolyte Galistos was a Tauren, and “Gallistos” is certainly not a tauren name. Uther never got a new name though.

Pelagos has 7 letters in it. 7 divided by 7 is 1. 1 multiplied by ((3.5)(2)) is 7, the same amount of letters the make up Aegwynn’s name.

Yea, the writing is just bad… My DM in high school did better story telling then this

There was a lot more on the line back then. Being a bad DM could get you ostracized from the friend group.

I’m gonna hold off judgement till I actually see where they go with this. Pelagos is a pretty lackluster side character, but maybe he’ll go sicko mode for 9.2 :man_shrugging:

Expectations are low, hoping to be pleasantly suprised.

I keep saying this, but we’re going to get a cut-scene at the end of the expansion with Sylvanas yelling, “the Shadowlands are freeeeee!”

Guess we’ll see this at the beginning of 9.2 then.

Ohh… Great Blizzard… :angry:I already smell another award for the appreciation of an LGBT character and the freedom of his pride.

but you just choose the worst characters of the entire expansion, remember Family Guy when Brian Griffin almost killed himself for giving the right to Quahog for his cousin’s LGBT marriage, while his cousins DID NOTHING FOR THEIR RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS BUT TO MARRY HIS PARTNER AT THE END OF THE EPISODE.

Well now our characters, Kirian’s allies like Kleia the closest to Pelagos are Brian Griffin, and obviously Pelagos is his cousin.

A fatal and empty character who has no relevant lore but to give in covenant the most op skills that was nerfed at the beginning of the expansion while other LGBT characters like Thiernax have given everything to save the Shadowlands and even travel with us to the Maws.

That is why I once hated everything about Kirian and Bastion, which is why like the heaven in Diablo 3, the company shows its video games a way to create a coffin, and his grave sealed by large, hard, studded nails so that no one will ever release him again and heavenly announce the end of WoW with a sad death.

That is why you will have many responses to choose the least representative character of the Kirians in all of WoW rather than win him awards and merits just because he is an LGBT character.

Pelagos who Blizzard created to promote transgender equality in Shadowlands is now going to be the judger of all souls. Another one of Blizzard’s way to showing we have change moments by taking a trivial side character and thrusting them important role. Surely there were a few dozen other NPCs who could take up that mantle.

They don’t have enough time to justify Pelagos’ ascension. You’d need the bumbling sidekick to actually be prominent through the expansion before considering this sort of promotion.
Just doing it because “look everyone we put a a trans character into a main role” is a lazy way to show equality. Blizzard just wants to once more remind us how they are “awoke now”. They should still write out the story in a way that earns them a place that high, don’t just give then godly powers for the sake of inclusivity.

I’m actually, proud of Pelagos. Someone out of the circle willing to sacrifice for a good.

Sooo a regular soul is now going to do the job of an Eternal One(Zovaal) ?

Good writing.

It was the same as Abby in the Last of Us, a character whose actions are irrelevant and meaningless to viewers and whose duty is to force the audience to empathize with undeserved acts.

And to think that Sylvanas was the worst of this expansion… hmm…

Well, we will need another jailer to absorb their powers from that Pelagos and the Primus make another Referee with a better plot and focus for the whole public.

Mannnnnnn i hate that character lmfao this writing

That was pretty much my thought, too. What a ridiculous choice. This storyline keeps getting worse and worse.

They can’t fix a broken construct? Seriously? How incompetent is the Shadowlands?

Sylvanas would make a good jailer for the dead, she had a lot of practice.

We still have bad writers and scriptwriter for this game, I’m afraid we will have another N’zoth ending in this expansion.

I don’t know, Lately I am very disappointing because the game was only dedicated to making political MESSAGES and nonsense to the game.

I already said that Blizzard should convince me in the next expansion if it is better than this one, if he wants me to stay and not leave after this expansion.

This would be akin to making Bran Stark the King of Westeros. Imagine if, after 8 seasons, the writers suddenly decided that Bran Stark of all people would win the throne.

Making Pelagos the Arbiter would be kinda like that.
